Ladies and Gentlemen… we have an exciting announcement.

Now some may of already noticed, whilst we have been busy getting things ready! Katy & the team have been working really hard to create a brand spanking new page, moving as much content over as possible! πŸ‘πŸ½

Despite our desperate try’s to edit this wonderful page, full of memories and a thriving community.. we are only simply restricted with some unchangeable settings, and we feel the future of our marketing for the society would benefit greatly with a new, more adaptable page. This would include the likes of being able to create individual events, such as our Summer Fete, with an β€˜easy to find’ approach for any content relating. With social media facilities moving forward rapidly, as a society we would like to use it to its full extent and are really excited to introduce such measures.

We shall still be leaving this page active, so those can look back at old photos and memories if they wish.🀝🏽

As a society we share our condolences to the family & friends of the wonderful Louise Powell. πŸ•ŠοΈ
A woman who always wore a smile, and was a generous, selfless, shining member of our little village.
From her beautiful gingerbread men, hand created, and sold at all of our fetes…to graciously decorating her house, head to toe in Christmas lights, hosting our Santa’s Grotto on many occasions!

As a community we would like to share our love and support to her husband, Mark, daughter, Katie, and to the many friends of Lou amongst the society. 🀍

The first weekend of October might seem miles away, but RMCBS are already in full swing of preparations behind the scenes for 2025 bonfire night!
Last year we introduced sponsorships from the local community, giving local businesses the opportunity to promote themselves whilst being thoroughly involved in village life!
Annually, bonfire night is one of the biggest events Rotherfield proudly hosts, along with other towns and villages across Sussex. πŸ”₯
The village becomes full of life and packed with people enjoying the traditional Sussex parade and entertainment.

To make our night so special and safe, it comes with a lot of cost.
We have things like our fantastic Sussex Volunteer Fire & Rescue team, which we could not run our night without. Chris and his team thoroughly enhance our health and safety, giving us confidence that our bonfire night is in good hands. Although volunteers, their fire trucks, paperwork, and facilities all need to be funded.
Our security team for the year to manage the road closures professionally.
The fireworks from the wonderful Wizard Fireworks.
A range of bands that walk amongst our fellow Sussex walkers, providing the life and party into our parade.
Toilet facilities for the car park, and Town Row.
The list goes on….

In exchange for any kind donations or sponsorships, RMCBS are offering a full page in our annual bonfire programme sold to over 350 people, along with a social media β€˜thanks’, promoting your business for getting involved in the local community!

Our motto, β€˜For Village & Society’, has its true meaning.
We like our village to come together, enhancing our community, as well as celebrating this Sussex tradition.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ VE DAY 80th Anniversary Celebrations πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

On Thursday 8th & Sunday 11th May 2025, RMCBS will proudly be joining the local community in the 80th anniversary celebrations of VE Day, hosted by the Parish Council.
VE Day marks the memorable end of World War II in Europe. It is thanks to the men and woman that sacrificed their lives, that we live so freely today.

Please join us, and the rest of the community, Thursday evening for the lighting of the Beacon.
Equally Sunday morning we have our Thanksgiving and Celebration Parade Service at St Denys’. πŸ”₯

With over 230 children running! 🀩

A massive thank you to all our lovely volunteers and society members for pitching in to held the day run smoothly! 🀝🏽

Another big thank you to all our stall holders! It was a lovely atmosphere inside the hall.

Another reminder that the annual Rotherfield Easter Egg Hunt hosted by RMCBS is tomorrow!
This is a brilliant event for all of the family!
We have our very competitive Easter Bonnet Competition, which is always flooded with some incredible bonnets!
The very famous Egg Hunt is of course back, where we witness all the children sprint across the recreation ground searching for where the Easter Bunny might have been! πŸ°πŸ‘€
There will be refreshments for all, along with craft tables, and a special visit from our friends at SVFR with their fire engine. πŸš’
