In 20 years of full time conversions I have learned quite a lot....some of it could even be useful🤣🤣.
One of the most frustrating things is putting your water system together and once pressurised, you find a leak so now it's drain it down, depressurise and fix the offending leak.
With the exception of the odd 'o'ring that has slipped, the number one offending joint, is the Flexi pipe to pump join. We always used Jubilee type clamps, and definitely avoided the really cheap ones 😉, but in so many cases, we had to go back and tighten it up..much tighter than you would think🫤. A few years ago, someone suggested hose clamps as a better option.
This is one of those times where a small change to a similar product, makes a massive difference. Let's be honest, a small drip unnoticed can cause a lot of damage🤬.
Now this pump I am using, does have JG pushfit connections in and out, but nearly every other pump I have used has a barbed connector and suggests using a small run of flexible pipe on either side to avoid vibration leaks. But either way, I always bring the fresh water pipe into the van with food grade reinforced Flexi pipe. So the inlet side of the pump has a Flexi pipe and a stainless hose clamp.
Let's hope it doesn't drip when pressured up...by that's a while off.
