This is absolutely heartbreaking and a reminder of why we take our jobs as driving instructors so seriously.

Every time a young person gets behind the wheel, we have a responsibility that goes far beyond simply teaching them how to pass a driving test, We are teaching them how to make safe decisions manage risk, understand the consequences of their actions and, ultimately, protect themselves and everyone else using the road.

Behind every lesson is a young person’s life, and the lives of their family, friends and other road users.

No lesson is ever just a driving lesson. We never know which piece of advice conversation or safety message might one day make the difference between someone getting home safely or not.

Out thoughts are with the families and everyone affected by this devastating tragedy. 😢

Please drive safely. Your life, and someone else’s, could depend on it.

We’re changing how learners can swap their driving tests
From 1 October, the process for how learner drivers can swap their driving test is changing.

The change will remove the need for learners to coordinate their availability and will make the process smoother and less stressful.

What's changing
To request a swap, the first learner driver will still need to call DVSA. The second learner will then need to call DVSA on the same working day to confirm they're happy with the swap.

We can only process the swap if both learners call DVSA on the same working day.

Previously, both learners needed to be available at the same time to make the swap.

Please make your pupils aware of this change
