I finally had some time today, to get the MG TC in primer. Not before I sorted a couple of bits though. The main offender was the repair to the inside one of the doors. It’s an old repair, that wasn’t door with a great deal of finesse. I wasn’t happy to leave it, as it would spoil a good
Job, so, I improved it, and added some nails, to make it look more original…

On my own again today…. I got stuck in, and prepped the MGC. I also applied some practice stonechip coating, to the very edge and underside of the sill, rear wing and front wing. After that, 2 coats of colour….

Hmmm. Kia make some decent cars now, slightly disappointingly, and given the price of the replacement parts, the finish on their new panels, is still a little too reminiscent of the 90’s.
There were a few surface marks, and annoyingly, the door is supplied with seam sealer applied.
I won’t lie, I’ve never, in my 31 years in the trade, been able to seal a door nicely. Fortunately, 3m make a stick on sealer, and I finish the corners and other bits, with a bit of normal seam sealer 😜

I started prepping the MGC for primer, and found paint over underseal and flakey paint/rust.
I’m painting the side below the chrome, to help with colour matching, and work paint over anything rough…..
