FOR SALE: 2007 Aston Martin V12 Vantage RS Concept - Chassis RS01
The car that started it all. Conceived by Aston Martin’s secretive engineering ‘Skunk Works’, RS01 combined, for the first time, the compact V8 Vantage platform with a race-derived 580 bhp 6.0-litre V12 developed with Prodrive, paired with a six-speed manual gearbox.
Unveiled by Dr Ulrich Bez in December 2007, this one-off concept recorded 175 mph at Circuit Paul Ricard, matching the contemporary DBR9 GT1 racer. Claimed to be around 200 kg lighter than the later production V12 Vantage, it offered a more uncompromising vision of Aston Martin performance.
One of the marque’s rare concept cars to enter private ownership, RS01 has since featured in the second-generation V12 Vantage launch campaign, the 110th Anniversary celebrations at Silverstone and Octane magazine’s 2026 list of the 20 greatest-ever Aston Martins.
UK road registered with full type approval, RS01 remains a unique piece of Aston Martin history and the original expression of one of the marque’s most celebrated modern driver’s cars.
