Wet weather is sweeping the country – how does this affect braking? 🚗

Highway Code rule 126 explains stopping distances and how much space to leave between you and the vehicle in front of you.

Remember:

Leave a two-second gap between you and the vehicle in front – especially on motorways and in tunnels 🛣️

Leave a four-second gap when driving on wet roads 🌧️

Remember: large vehicles and motorcycles need a greater distance to stop. If in doubt, leave a four-second gap 🚛

Before your driving test, tick these off your list. 📝🚗

Test day nerves are normal, but this checklist means you’ll have one less thing to worry about.

Here's what you need to bring with you to your driving test:

✅ Your UK driving licence. If you have a licence from Northern Ireland, you need to bring the Northern Ireland photocard, paper counterpart and theory certificate (if taken in Northern Ireland).

✅ A car that meets the rules, whether it's your instructor's or your own.

Here’s a tip for getting your MOT booked in! 🚗

Sort it for up to a month (minus a day) early – and keep the same renewal date for next year 😮

So – if your test date is 15 May, you could take it on 16 April – and renew in May next year 🎉
