(FORD ECOBOOST WET BELTS)

To all ford owners who own a 1.0L EcoBoost engine and are wanting to get their wet belt/Timing belt replaced, then look no further than JWM Automotive. We have the experience and knowledge todo the job along with all the special equipment needed.

The Ford 1.0 litre EcoBoost engines use a Wet Belt instead of the traditional Timing belt, the main difference is that the Wet Belt runs inside the engine and a timing belt runs on the outside of the engine.

Ford recommend these belts are replaced every 10 years or 150,000 miles, we are sure most people will hit the 10 year mark before the 150,000 miles.

We recommend getting it done between 6-8 years or 60-80,000 miles as we are seeing lots of premature belt failures due to a lack of servicing or incorrect oil used. Causing unrepairable engine damage resulting in a new engine.

Is your timing belt due for replacement or your un sure when it's required? get in touch today with JWM Automotive, we offer a wide range of services direct to you.

As you can see by these images, we carried out a timing belt change and cabin filter along with a AC cleaner as the driver was noticing a horrible smell coming from the vents when the AC was on. We also removed the silica bag that causes a hand full off issues when burst saving the customer £££ in the future.

Another warning for a wet belt engine 1.0 Ecoboost Ford engine, this is the newest design of Ecoboost Ford engine's it has a timing chain and wet belt for the oil pump.

Just to let you all know it's important to make sure the engine's maintenence on services are up to date as these engines will deteriorate the belts.

This is a 2019 Ford Focus with only 40,000 miles.

Timing chain replacement is 10 years or 150,000 miles as you can see this isn't always the case.

To all PSA owners that own the 1.2 petrol wet belt engine let this post be a WARNING!!! It is crucial to keep up to date with servicing. These engines will deteriorate the timing belt causing loads of issues, the engine running on low oil pressure or the vacuum pump being Inoperable causing hard brake pedal etc.

The PSA GROUP is Vauxhall, Citroen, Peugeot, Opel, DS.

The 1.2 wet belt engine is required to have its belt changed every 60,000 miles.

This engine only had 45,000 miles on but was well overdue services causing early failure of the timing belt.

If you see the red oil can warning light on your dash immediately shut your engine off as you can cause alot more damage than just the timing belt leading to ££££ in repair bills.

A big thank you to Osca technology and their technicians for getting the bulb light warning away after this stunning retrofit. This wasn't on the application list but the task was still accomplished, you all may know when converting your standard lights to led lights you will encounter a bulb light warning on your dashboard.

This retrofit wasn't installed by JWM AUTOMOTIVE only coding the front and rear led lights was done by JWM AUTOMOTIVE.

So we have this Skoda Rapid 1.2 TSI 4 years old with 30,000 miles and this has happened. The fuel rail bolts have sheared off and the fuel rail has damaged the injector seals causing fuel to gush out everywhere. This is a design issue from Skoda which shouldn't happen at this mileage and year.
