Busy couple of weeks in the workshop

More bits ticked off on Zak’s Mk2 Golf, and we’ve been sorting Chris’s Es**rt after it decided it didn’t want to start

Turned out the starter motor had packed up, and the fuel pump had given up too, so a couple of little jobs there to get it back on track

Plenty keeping us busy 👌

This lovely Ford Es**rt XR3i came into us with a non-starting issue, along with a list of MOT failures to work through, and we’ll be giving it a fresh oil and filter change while it’s with us too👌

Zak’s Mk2 Golf came in for air ride to be fitted, along with a few other small jobs.

Once we started getting into it, we found the brake servo was leaking badly, leaving the brakes unsafe and inoperable, so that was first on the list to be swapped out for a replacement.

With the rear carpets removed, we then found the rear turret areas were in poor condition, so these had to be cut out and properly repaired to make them safe. The rear beam mount areas were also badly corroded, meaning the only proper way to sort them was to remove the rear beam, cut out the affected sections and replace them with new panels.

The disc-cutter marks around the rear beam areas will also be welded up before the new panels go in.

Not quite just air ride anymore, but it’ll be right when it leaves 👌

Bridget the T25 came to us with a non-working blower motor, which meant a fair bit of stripping down to get to the fault. The dash had to come out to gain access to the heater box so the blower motor could be replaced properly. Not the quickest of jobs, but all worth it to get the heater working as it should again!

Blossom the T25 has been in with us to get a few issues sorted. First up was getting the power steering back up and running, followed by replacing a couple of brake flexi pipes that had been advised on the previous MOT, along with fitting a new upper ball joint. To finish things off, we carried out a small rust repair on the rear end. 🔧

It’s now all sorted and ready for the camping season. 🚐🌞
