Learner drivers are finding it harder than ever to pass their driving test, latest figures suggest. The pass rate fell to just 45.8% for 2018/2019 – down from a peak of 47.1% in 2016/2017, Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) reveals.24 Jul 2019

The reason learners are finding it harder to pass is due to poor standards of coaching and training, why do a lot of driving schools think that teaching a test route is what’s required to become a good safe driver ? I get learners coming to me who have failed their test as much as 9 times and I find their not taught basic skills and procedures which are required to be a good safe driver, my own pass rate is a conservative 90% first time pass rate !! We as professional ADIS have a responsibility to get learners to a good safe standard for the rest of their driving career! It seems no matter which driving school they come from they all seem to be taught to the same standard which is appalling and dangerous! I have to question what they think is a safe standard of driving 😬.
