A recent job was carried out for an Audi A6. The job first came to us with a complaint of no start no ignition at the customer's workplace. After we got it to the customer's house, it would not start again. Since I was booked up until Wednesday, the customer decided to get someone else to look at it.
Another locksmith came out straight away said key was faulty and that he doesn't do them.
After the customer called me back, I assured them that I would recheck the key and proceed from there. Upon rechecking, it turned out that the key was functioning properly, but the issue was more complex and required further investigation. Encountering conflicting answers for the customer was particularly challenging as you dont know who to trust
Fortunately, because the previous locksmith did not want to take on the issues, there wasn't much choice. First, the fault codes 02811 were checked, and the wiring was verified to ensure that the LIN network was online, and everything was functioning correctly. Subsequently, the focus turned to the modules, specifically the ELV and the BCM. It was discovered that the ELV had damaged the BCM, a finding which was prompted by a post from M.A. Diagnostic, leading to a thorough inspection of both components. As a result, it was a necessary to clone ELV ( in the end decided to remove elv) and perform a repair on the BCM, which presented a significant challenge, particularly due to the lack of access to ODIS. This job demanded a considerable amount of time and investment to successfully resolve the issues and ensure the customer's vehicle was operational once again.
