At AB Pneumatics, we’ve launched an Improvement of the Month initiative to encourage continuous improvement and lean thinking across the team.

For April, well done to Mark, who implemented a simple but effective solution to manage water leaks, collecting excess water from beneath our vulcanisers to improve housekeeping and reduce disruption.

It’s a great example of identifying an issue and putting in place a practical, low-cost improvement.

Mark received a voucher in recognition of his efforts — a well-earned result!

Yesterday we said goodbye to our longest standing employee, Robert, as he began his retirement.

Robert has been a key part of our team for the guts of 17 years, being one of our most consistent and reliable sleeve builders in the Airspring Department. His work ethic and commitment to the highest of standards are the truest reflection of what AB Pneumatics strives for.

We will miss Robert's presence on the factory floor as well as the back-and-forth football banter in the canteen. It was always easy getting a laugh out of an Arsenal fan! 👀

We thank Robert for all his years of dedication and wish him all the best on his next chapter!

It’s National Engineers Week, and at AB Pneumatics it’s a chance to reflect on how engineering has shaped our journey.

Since being founded by Dr W.A Armstrong and W.H Burrell in 1983, technical thinking has always driven our progress. The development of the Donut Spring, advanced through collaboration with former KTP associate, who is now our Engineering Director, Steven Boal, is a strong example of that evolution.

Engineering isn’t just part of our history, it continues to shape our future.

At AB Pneumatics, we’re strengthening our role as a technical partner in vibration control solutions.

Our focus is on working closer with customers to understand applications, review performance requirements, and support projects from early concept through to long-term reliability.

This includes customised isolation solutions, deeper project involvement, technical assessments, and continued development of our in-house testing capabilities (more to share soon! 👀).

Vibration challenges require engineering input not just components.

It’s National Apprenticeship Week, and at AB Pneumatics we’re proud to support the development of future engineering talent.

Over the years, we’ve worked with apprentices and continue to regularly welcome students into our facility to provide insight into our operations, manufacturing processes, and the career opportunities available within engineering.

Early exposure to industry plays an important role in building skills, confidence, and long-term career pathways and we’re pleased to contribute where we can.

In 2026, AB Pneumatics is building on its engineering heritage with a renewed focus on technical, project-led support.

While we’ve always supplied vibration control and rubber components, our approach goes further. We work with customers earlier in the process to understand applications, operating conditions, and performance requirements. This allows us to support projects more effectively and help deliver reliable, long-term solutions.

AB Pneumatics' Donut Springs are built using a rubber and fabric composite construction.

The rubber provides flexibility and vibration isolation, while the fabric reinforcement adds strength and controls compression under load. Together, they deliver reliable, consistent performance in demanding industrial applications.

We’re back and it at AB Pneumatics 👋

The New Year has kicked off on a positive note, with new orders already coming in from all over the world. It’s shaping up to be a busy start to 2026, which is always a good sign.

On the shop floor, things are already moving again which is a pretty satisfying sight after the Christmas break!

Thanks as always to our customers and partners for the continued support. We’re excited to build on the momentum and see where 2026 takes us.

We were delighted to host engineering students from SERC yesterday as part of a joint factory tour with our sister company, Plastics 2000 👷‍♂️🔧

The group got a close-up look at our production processes, including seeing our industrial donut springs being manufactured and tested in person, with expert guidance from Steven, our Technical Director.

Supporting skills development and strengthening collaboration with local education providers is hugely important to us. Northern Ireland’s manufacturing sector continues to grow, and it’s talent like this that will shape its future. 🌍✨

A massive thank you to everyone involved, we loved showing what engineering looks like at AB Pneumatics!
