Corsa B build gaining traction the last few weeks..
Big thanks to Thomson Garages Ltd for painting the bodywork in the OEM ‘Arden Blue’, I’m positive there was a lot more to it than that but it’s absolutely flawless, better than factory, I couldn’t be happier with the paintwork.
Moving onto the chassis legs and inner arches, we applied UPOL Raptor tinted to RAL BL0642 for long lasting protection against rust, not that the car will ever see salt again 😬
Aswell as a last minute decision to refurb and repaint the engine bay, I’ve absolutely zero body spraying experience but I’d say it came out pretty much as good as it gets.
There has been a fair bit of engineering to get the Z20LET into the right position before finally biting the bullet and cutting holes/welding in mounts supplied by Philip Engineering Elgin.
Next up is trimming any unnecessary wiring and tidying up the loom to get the bay ready to accept the engine for hopefully the final time.
The interior has seen new speakers all round including retrofitting some tweeters into the door grab handle surrounds, dynamat soundproofing / insulation to the floor aswell as a MDF / carpet false floor giving usable space to the rear, aswell as the addition of a leather OMP steering wheel to compliment the Corbeau bucket seats.
