The purpose behind South Tuningz was originally supposed to be a local mobile tuning service for people based in South London, that quickly changed to a service covering the Entirety of London, Cambridge, Oxford, Norfolk and Essex. From Brighton all the way too Dover and back towards Reading, Southampton, we have now opened a large workshop i

n Croydon due to the continued support from our great customers! Due to such high demand we have had to deeply invest in research & development regarding sophisticated professional tools and software providers that are regarded as some of the best software creators in the automotive industry. Through hard work, passion and a genuine love of all things fast the owner has built a mobile tuning company that prides itself on providing cutting edge software that has proven itself time and time again, five star customer services and attention to detail that very few can rival. The reason for all of this you ask ? The team at South Tuningz are very much against seeing genuine customers and members of the General public, falling foul of low quality generic remaps and bad customer service, unfortunately leaving people in compromising situations and generally giving tuning a bad reputation. 🚨 AUDI S3 8Y — TUNED ELSEWHERE 🚨

Before anyone grabs the popcorn… 🍿 this car was actually tuned fairly well.

BUT there’s something every tuned car owner needs to understand:

🌡️ IATs MATTER.

This S3 is still running:
• Stock intercooler
• OPF still in the exhaust
• ECU/TCU tune from elsewhere

On a cool day? ❄️
We’d comfortably expect this setup and tune to make around **370–380+ BHP** with strong, consistent power.

On the dyno in the current climate? ☀️🔥

High intake temps + stock cooling = power gets pulled back.

For comparison, with our:
• OPF bypass
• ECU tuning
• TCU tuning
• Dyno calibration

We regularly see **400–420 BHP** from the S3 8Y platform. 📈

But credit where it’s due — the existing tune on this car is respectable. 🤝

The lesson?

Don’t judge a tuned car purely by one dyno number.

This stock X4M Comp came into Apex Performance, Edenbridge for a full 4WD dyno test + data logging 📊💻

🔥 Very warm day = HIGH intake air temps
✅ Logs looking clean
⚠️ Slight ignition knock showing — pointing towards worn spark plugs combined with the higher IATs
💪 Still putting in a strong result despite the conditions

On a cooler day with fresh plugs, we’d expect this X4M Competition to be pretty much bang on factory figures… if not slightly OVER 👀

Because if you know BMW… you know they LOVE making more power than they quote from factory 😏
