We are pleased to share an excellent progress update on our 2026 Dealer Optimisation Programme. 👏

Having successfully completed their Lean Training Days at the Leyland PDC, all five participating dealerships, Ford & Slater Leeds, Greenhous Group Willenhall, Pelican DAF, HTC Oxford and Adams Morey Southampton Hub are currently working through the implementation stage of the Programme and are now well on their journey to driving impressive, sustainable improvements across three core pillars: Capacity, Efficiency, and Safety.

The level of engagement throughout has been outstanding, and it has been incredibly rewarding to see the continued growth of strong, collaborative relationships being built across the Dealer Network. We are already seeing a diverse and innovative range of improvement ideas being rolled out across locations to suit their unique operational needs.

A huge thank you to everyone involved for their dedication and hard work. We look forward to seeing these lean initiatives take shape and celebrating the results as we head into the latter half of the year! 🌟

Today we said goodbye to our Customer Service/Materials Manager, Luke Agius, as he moves on to an exciting new role. 🚀
For the past 3 years, Luke has been a valued part of the Leyland team and has played a fantastic role in supporting the business. His hard work, support, and dedication have been greatly appreciated by everyone he has worked with.

Shane Christie, PDC Manager, said:
'Luke, it’s been a pleasure having you as part of the team over the last three years. Thank you for your hard work, commitment, and support. You’ve made a real difference, and while you’ll be missed, I’m delighted to see you taking the next step in your career. Wishing you every success in your new role.'

To celebrate, the team surprised him with a food spread worthy off a send-off. 😋

As AI continues to become an increasingly important part of the modern workplace, we’re excited to have introduced it across our organisation as part of our commitment to innovation and continuous improvement. 🙌

A key part of this journey is Lauren Hodgeon, one of our Commodity Managers and AI Community Lead. Lauren is helping to encourage the use of AI across the organisation and shape the support people need along the way. Through community meet-ups, workshops, and demonstrations, she’s helping colleagues build confidence with AI and discover practical ways to use it in their day-to-day work. It’s all about making AI feel accessible, useful, and relevant, while helping us make the most of the opportunities it brings.

We’re proud to support Jenny, one of our Senior Material Planners, as she takes on an incredible challenge in loving memory of her late son, Antony, while raising money for Leyland Trucks Helping Hand.

Her adventure begins crossing Europe’s longest high-wire bridge, the Infinity Bridge, 1,000ft above the valley floor with breathtaking views of the Lake District.
She’ll then head deep into the mine for the Climb the Mine challenge, facing vertical climbs, rope bridges, zip lines and a Tarzan swing.
To finish, Jenny will face The Jump - a 30-metre freefall and the UK’s first-ever 30m freefall attraction.

Recently, our CI and PDC management team completed two productive days focused on advancing their Lean Journey. The sessions were filled with best practices, new insights, and engaging discussions that pushed their Lean thinking to the next level.

September was a busy month for our Dealer Optimisation Team and Dealer Network with the Ford & Slater Birtley team being the latest to complete the Programme. 🌟

Tony and the team have done an exceptional job demonstrating hard work and determination to achieve some incredible results.

The journey has seen them implement over 10 improvements across the stores. Overall, they have created over 300 new parts locations, saved in excess of 20km in motion waste through densification of racking and space utilisation, as well as making some big impact operational and safety improvements.

It is a privilege to work closely with our Dealer Network and share our knowledge and expertise to support incredible improvements that best optimise and create efficient and safe working environments that ultimately lead to greater customer satisfaction!

A massive well done to Tony and the team at Ford & Slater Birtley. 🏆

Today, we recognise that mental health is just as important as physical health in the workplace.

This year, we have put a great focus on this by training Mental Health First Aiders. By empowering our team with skills to support one another, we are fostering a space that breaks the stigma.
