Day off work today, so in the workshop on the charity build. Cutting and polishing panels and mudguard. So I started with a 2000 wet and dry, then onto 3000. Sounds strange sanding down new paint, but this is what it takes for a show finish. Sanded back until all panels were dull, and orange peel gone. Then onto a buffing wheel with a very fine paint restorer. Then a coat of canuba wax. Very very happy with finished result. Smooth as glass, and definitely sparkling. Photos dont do it justice. Now just the rest to do. 🤣🤣 before and after pics. Enjoy.

Success at last with top headset cover on the charity build. Flatted off completely and applied an inhibitor. Job done. Frame now painted in metallic moondust silver, apply extra flake next. Getting there. Conservatory slowly filling up with bits. 🤣I'm sure Karen wouldn't mind. Not 🤣🤣🛵🛵

Been busy, last few days on the charity build. 41 hours in. Metallic moondust silver applied, followed by 2 coats of extra flake, 2 coats of clear and 6 coats of purple candy. Headset reacted again. Time for sealer. Something not happy. Last bit if the puzzle tomorrow, start on the frame. Last piece. Getting there.,

A day in the workshop today, working on the charity build. 5 coats of clear coat applied. Loving the colour. Glad I didn't go darker. Still has to be cut and polished, but she'll be a stunner. Onto the rest of it now. Watch this space. All in aud of the Karen Whitfield Foundation. Thank you for all your support.

Productive day again on the charity build. 2 coats of metal flake, 2 coats of clear. Very happy. Couple of videos at the request of Dave Bowman. Enjoy the rest of the build. May get some candy on it tomorrow.

4 hours today on the charity build, wet sanded all smaller parts and painted. 4 coats of Metallic Moondust silver. First base coat done. I'll apply the extra flake tomorrow. 26 hours in. Time for a beer. 🍻

Couple of hours today priming the frame, 4 good coats. Wet sand friday, then apply first of the base coats, over the weekend. Metallic Moondust silver. Change of circumstances, so in the workshop for the weekend, armed with a paint gun.

Just over 3 hours on the Charity build today, all primed less frame and toolbox. 4 coats of high build primer. Wet sand once fully dry, then there ready for metallic silver base coat. 18 hours in.

Well,,, the paint has arrived for the Charity build, a day late, but at least its here. Primer day tomorrow, let the painting stage commence. Many hours and many layers. That's custom paint for you. She'll be a stunner. Only fitting. karenwhitfieldfoundation.org.uk

Just a quick 4 hours on the charity build today, decided to carry on sanding, get it out of the way because I love it so much 🤣 so frame now done, little bit of panel beating on near side legshield, but shes straight now. Into the paint cupboard tomorrow, let's start priming. 19 hours in so far. karenwhitfieldfoundation.org.uk

Quick 5 hours today on the charity build, panel beat front mudguard back into shape and a bit on one of the side panels. Get some etch primer on them tomorrow, then onto frame and toolbox. 15 hours in up to now.
