We’ve FINALLY finished off our MICHELIN CUP 2 TYRES.
We’ve undertaken multiple trackdays in our GT4 and the rear Michelin Cup 2 tyres have finally called time.

Our GT4 is running our Stage 2 rear camber plates allowing the fitment of 325-section rubber. Despite this extra tyre width, the additional negative camber these upgraded top mounts unlock has ensured perfectly even wear across the tyre surface during hard driving.

Multiple heat cycles have, however, changed the compound beyond redemption. Nevertheless, we are yet again incredibly impressed by not just by the grip the Michelin Cup 2 tyres generate, but also their longevity and consistency.

One item that Porsche changed from the 718 GT4 when developing the GT4 RS is the use of solid monoballs fitted into the lower control arm. 🛠️

The flexibility of the rubber bush is most noticeable during quick cornering and acceleration on track, where it can cause a loss of the toe and camber geometry dialled into the car.📉

The change to a solid part reduces flex in the assembly, ensuring that the suspension geometry settings remain consistent. 🔒

This also improves feedback and driver confidence when pushing the car, helping to reduce lap times. 🏁

Do lightweight wheels improve handling performance? 🤔
We put that question to the test at Millbrook Proving Ground, fitting our Porsche 991 GT3 RS with a set of iPE magnesium wheels and comparing them directly with the factory alloy wheels.

The goal was simple: find out whether reducing unsprung and rotational mass produces a measurable difference in the way the car accelerates, brakes and responds.

As negative camber at the front is increased for cornering grip, negative camber may also need to be adjusted at the rear to maintain desired chassis balance. 📈

Achieving a desired rear camber setting may move the toe angle outside the preferred range. This can be addressed with the use of an adjustable rear toe arm. 🔧

This opens a wider range of toe adjustment and helps to achieve more aggressive camber levels whilst keeping toe settings optimal. 👌

During a trip to Nitron UK headquarters, we fitted Nitron elec-TRON R3 coilovers to our BMW F80 M3 Competition ⚡️

These coilovers allow for the adjustment of damping through physical dials on the dampers, as well as via electronic adjustment programmed directly into the car’s OEM damping button. 💥

BMW G80 M3 Upgrades: HAS Kit 🛠️
A Height Adjustable Suspension (HAS) kit allows you to adjust different aspects of the suspension, similar to a full coilover kit, but for a fraction of the price. 👌

The HAS kit allows you to dial in the corner weight of the car, along with ride height and rake adjustability. 🔓

HAS kits are stiffer than OEM spring rates, which in turn reduces body roll and lowers the centre of gravity, improving cornering performance. 📈
