2024 SW MOTORSPORTS CLUBSPORT TROPHY @ DONINGTON PARK - 22/23 JUNE 2024 - RACE WEEKEND PREVIEW

The 2024 SW Motorsports ClubSport Trophy never seems to fail to attract anything less than a sold out entry each time it competes on track, and as you’d have come to expect, the latest event this weekend at Donington Park on the full Grand Prix circuit is absolutely no exception. No less than 42 cars are set to pack out the entry, with lots of battles expected across all five classes.
In Class E, it's an all Asian affair in a battle that mostly consists of Mazda versus Hyundai. The Mazda corner includes a pair of Mazda2s for Nick Dougill and the Colin Risbridger/ Joe Jacob pairing, joined by Anthony and Gary Paddock in an MX-5, while a brace of Revolution Racing Hyundai Coupe Cup cars face off against them driven by Mark Jones and Gary Hobbs. Will Gallagher completes the class as the odd one out in his Toyota MR2.

Mallory Park 18-5-24 - Revoltion Racing Drivers Mark Jones #32 and Gary Hobbs #8 in the OT Coupe Cup with Toyo Tires. This was Garys first race with the Coupes on a grid of equally matched cars. Sadly both cars suffered early shock failures which hindered performance but still had 2 good races. Great event and people as always with clean respectful racing 👍. Still some set up work and now shock replacements on the cars before Donnington Park in June with the BRSCC Clubsport trophy and then Thruxton in July with the Coupes again 🏁

Final track day with the OT Coupe Cup with Toyo Tires for three of the revolution Racing Drivers before the season starts. Our first race will be this Sunday (17th March) at Silverstone in the R1 SW Motorsports clubsport Trophy. We have 2 cars entered, driven by Mark Jones and Gary Hobbs, with track support from Misty Racing. We will be racing at 10 events this season across the UK - 5 rounds with the BARC OT Coupe cup with Toyo tires and 5 BRSCC SW Motorsports Clubsport trophy. Dates to follow. Out pre-testing at Brands Hatch with 2 of the Mazda cup guys lots of mechanical issues after the winter break but that’s why we do it !

1x engine
And one car was running well👍

Our 2022 calendar with the Hyundai coupe cup is out - some great tracks for next year 👍. In addition we are mixing things up in 2022 in other race series entries and race cars - more to follow.

So here we have it, the 2022 calendar is out.

7 fantastic circuits across the country from deepest darkest Wales to the frozen North and plenty in between.

Thruxton Race Circuit & Pembrey Circuit will be 2 day meetings, Silverstone sees the return of our 45 minute pit stop race, with the rest our standard 2x 15 minute races.

Here is the link to the Hyundai Coupe Cup Endurance race at Silverstone in August, where Mark Jones from Revolution Racing secured the win with Paul Lawrie and Wayne Rockett a very close 2nd and 3rd. Great club and great budget racing. Next weekend we go to Pembrey in Wales for the penultimate rounds of the season.
