DPF CLEAN RENAULT TRAFIC

customer enquired about a check anti pollution system on dashboard.

We did our diagnostics and one of the codes jumped out.

200292
Particle filter clogged.
Which is high soot accumulation.

We checked the exhaust pressure sensor pipe as they do get blocked up on the renault trafics and bring up dpf issues.

That was fine.

We then checked the dpf pressure and actual calculated soot weight in the dpf.

On a healthy dpf on idle we would be looking at around 6hpa pressure and no more than 6g of soot or even as low as 0.

This van however had 67hpa pressure and 59g of soot.

The dpf was seriously blocked!

We ran the dpf cleaning fluid through the dpf pressure sensor and kept the revs up at around 3k and watched the pressure come down.

At the start it was at 248hpa (very high. Should be around 70hpa at 3k revs.)

As the dpf cleaning fluid did its job. The pressure started going down and so did the soot level.

Once we got it to 10hpa on idle there was still around 13g of soot.

We then did a static regen... which took at least 45 minutes. Once that was completed the dpf pressure on idle was at 3hpa and soot level 0.

We also did a full service as the van had been trying to do and failing to complete regens which meant the diesel it was using to burn the soot was then being returned to the engine oil and diluting it. That in itself will lead to the engine blowing up.

So now with clean oil and a clean dpf our customer is issue free.

And a lovely review from him too.

Leaking injector seals replaced

Had to clean out all the 'black death' which is quite time consuming. Once aleverything was cleaned out, the copper seals were replaced so no more leaking injectors.

Vw touran 2010 clutch and flywheel

Customer enquired about getting his flywheel and clutch replaced. We were able to get him in pretty quick and while there were a few fights with the gearbox not wanting to go back in... another job complete and another happy customer.

Dpf clean for a return customer.
Previously told her that her ash deposits were getting high and that unlike soot, ash cant be cleaned out with a dpf cleaner.

However she came across a company that says that their cleaning fluid can turn the ash to sludge and it can be pushed out the dpf.

She supplied the cleaning fluid and we did the rest

We got the dpf pressure on idle down from 113mbar to 7mbar.
And on 2k revs from 362 to 38.

Would that have happened with the normal dpf cleaner we use?
Most likely.

But maybe it won't get blocked as quick if it does what it says, and has reduced the ash level.

AUDI A1
BROKEN COIL SPRING REPLACEMENT

And a horrible job. Did not enjoy doing the master cylinder on vauxhalls.. And had to do two.
On a corsa and a meriva.

Have to strip off so much from the driver footwear.
Tight space. All cramped up. Twisted up trying to access bolts!!

But all done. Didn't take many pics.

Skoda Rapid 1.4
Clutch replacement

Customer had issues with over revving and no power. Especially going up hills.

Thats a symptom of slipping clutch. The clutch plate has worn down so much its not clamping the spinning flywheel to transfer that power to the gearbox

Job would have gone swimmingly except for TWO rounded bolts. A mechanics worse nightmare. Adds hours to a job.

All done though.

Car drives as it should. Clutch is all good.
Does need new drop links but thats for another day.

WET BELT WEEK!!

3 wet belts done last week.

Hardest part... the heat!!
Thank you to the customers for allowing a little more extra time as we had to break up the days to not get heat stroke!!

Didn't take a lot of pictures so excuse the photo dump.

Starting this week of with 2 clutches... never gets easier!!

Transit Custom
Leaf spring and u bolts.

Customer had gone over a pot hole and snapped the rear leaf spring.

Replaced all that but then had a nightmare. Accidently cut into the hand brake cable.

Being a Sunday. Couldn't get the part. Doesn't help that its bank holiday tomorrow. So will be back to replace that on Tuesday.

If we do anything thats our fault. We will always hold our hands up and rectify it.
