The weather gods deemed that a yellow weather warning for ice was what our riders needed for this weekend's course - to make sure they were ready to face the slippy wintry conditions yet to come.

Freezing conditions never impeded the supply of hot drinks - and the rider's activity generated enough sweat to help thaw out the trails a little.

And the riders, once they knew how to control their bikes in slippy conditions, ventured out into one of our large forest areas where there were long stretches of crunchy ice on the trails.

They marvelled - not only that they were riding a 2 wheeled, wobbly machine (with radial tyres) on ice - but more so at how fast they were comfortable travelling on it - now knowing that their speed and momentum helped create balance (nor forgetting of course "Head Up").

Great to welcome, first time to MotoScotlander, Andrew - from Inverness direction. A trials rider in his play time, he had been tempted to try some trail riding with us after meeting us at an event.

Fab to have John & Johnnie back to complete their Level 2. John was desperate to get playing off road in the snow - so we managed to get a tick in that box for him. ;-)

And, of course, our Graeme, from Pointmedia in Glasgow. Graeme was here on our first customer day out - nearly 5 years ago!

Since that 2 day course, he has gone on to do all our training course levels and is a regular for trail riding sessions. With his riding skills, he has done off roading adventures in Tajikistan and Bolivia (to name but a few).

His (superb) printing and media company in Glasgow have produced every MotoScotland printed and exhibition media since we opened.

He has given us unswerving business support (when he had never met us before his course). You could not find a nicer, kinder, more genuine person.

Graeme, we salute you - you have been one of the best guys we have ever met and we cannot thank you enough for the incredible support you have given us since MotoScotland was born. We are pleased you have been here today, for our penultimate course.

We, of course, hope to ride with all today's top riders again, somewhere, sometime. Heads up until then chaps! ;-)

Hot, steaming, smouldering......no....we're not talking about Rory..., we're talking about what is emanating from the bike on his left - after what was a good workout climbing "The Stony Brae".

So for our final Level 3 in Inveraray, we were delighted to welcome back our long standing Scottish riders from over in the East.

As the excreted sweat, tears and effort, they took in (as a fair exchange) new skills, new terrains and new levels of belief of what they can achieve.

And so lucky with the weather - just breathtaking. Snow capped mountains, riding in snow and ice, crisp clean Scottish air...and at lunch time....warm enough to eat outside with a thin top on (well we did need to cool down after a good workout).

Thanks for 2 great days gents - looking forward to riding with you again somewhere in our futures ;-)

We got a shout by good local friend (and top sign maker at Fyne Signs Argyll Ltd), Ewan, to let us know the northern lights were on show above our training centre. He's also very good with a camera and while we watched our first ever live viewing, he took some long exposure snaps. That's one to stay in our memories 😍

Our legendary returning customers were HANKering after some more off roading. They reckoned that their Level 1 and Level 2 skills had been ramped up (with more practise) and were now cruising on down here for our Level 3.

There was no SHADOW of a doubt that they had all lifted their game - in fact they were MARVINlous!

They took on our Level 3 trails as easy as an APACHE Indian taking a scalp. :D

And then there was the mysterious man, out on the trails, with no name, who cast a long shadow. With 10' long legs, he could run down hills like a cheetah runs down pray....
...(Oi! Whose writing this tosh!?). Anyway, one thing was for sure, wasn't it Tommy?....Trevor was flipping brilliant!

As usual, we loved seeing you all - cheers lads - great stuff! ;-)))

There was no need to stoke the bonfire for these 5 riders - who were hot, hot, hot.

2 groups of riding buddies, with lots of spirit and blokie biking banter, the team cooked up their off road skills and were tackling polaris trails before you could shout "Catherine Wheels".

There were plenty of sparklers - especially when Ben parked his bike in the most unconventional way possible - you had to be there to get this though - didn't you lads! ;-)

Yup....that's right....we've had our first snow of the year - and you can see it on the caps of the mountains on the first picture.

On the 2nd and 3rd pic, you can see Maxine and John showing off their dancing moves to limber up for their "ninja surfer" body position - needed for steering tight, tight circles. Why....coz that's how these cool dudes roll ;-)

And later on in the album.... you can see Roy sporting a steely, model like, "Head Up" pose to show everyone "This is how you do it". Looking good Roy...looking good.

Beautiful November conditions for Cumbrians Maxine & Roy and north eastern NAMer John. Lovely to meet you all!

As it appens...all of our riders, on the first day, just happened to all be involved (randomly) in the medical industry.

So maybe there was a psychic phenomenon (had to double check that one on my spell check at this time of night ;-)))!) which drew them all together on this date for some off road respite??? Well after all...its close to Halloween isn't it!

Local Fort William Tuono rider, Jim, has definitely caught the off roading bug and has had a good few sessions with us now (off road....not therapy :D).

He's a MotoScotland firm favourite - and we proved that to him by taking him on to some soft slithery ground (as a reward, ya know!) - to engage in a bit of sideways, slippy tomfoolery.

Nigel, who on day 1 was pretty nervous of gravel, really got the "head up" thing and him and Jim got loose as we turned up the heat on the challengometer.

By sheer coincidence, 5 of our riders were from the forces (different disciplines) and thankfully, they all knew how to use force correctly when applying front brake to induce safe skidding in gravel ;-)

And lovely to welcome back Owen who has got the bug and has bought one of our favourite school bikes, a real character - our PR3 240cc. We'll sure miss her but we know Owen is gonna have a whole bunch of fun with her :D
