Gone are the days when you had to keep on waiting on the street frantically waving your hand at each cab passing by. Thanks to the foray of taxi apps, you would now simply have to mention your location and pick-up and you will have a cab waiting right at your doorstep- just with a few swipes of your smartphone. Taxis are omnipresent all across the UK and in London alone 450,000 taxi rides are taken everyday. The contemporary packed life hardly allows us the time to wait for the regular cabs and thus when taxi apps started to arrive with the great comfort of booking from home and fast pickup by the nearest driver- the English populace was quick to embrace them over the typical taxis.
Interestingly, amount of licensed cab & private transport on the English streets has touched a record up of 242,200 in recent times - which is a heightened 9.3% high since 2013 and this rise can be largely credited to smartphone taxi app companies.
