Hmmm...nice!! That wasn't much longer for this world. πŸ™ˆ Bit of a chicken or egg first senario. Normal thing is the plug, dealing with all that high voltage from the alternator, overtime gets corrosion on its pins. Resistance builds up causing heat that melts the plug, this high resistance causes the reg/rec to get all sweaty and eventually craps itself. Or the regulator side of the reg/rec fails causing a massive overcharge problem and melts the plug . In this case the charging voltage at the battery was dropping as the engine revs rose, a sure indicator that the reg/rec was duff and couldn't cope with the extra current being sent its way. So guessing the plug melted first, damaging its internals. Either way, who cares as the good news is that it only seems to of cooked the battery and not screwed with the cdi or clocks. Fingers crossed, that when the replacement reg/rec gets here and i solid wire it to get rid of the troublesome connector, get a new battery fitted and everything will be OK again 🀞

Two more projects turned up today. One is a 93 CB750F2 that some one abandoned the build, half way through making it a "Special" and after spending a fortune on it. The other is a 79 CB750F, that was imported a few years back, never UK registered and just left standing. Thought I would jump on the 79 and half hour later, it was running! All be it while peeing fuel out at the same time. Now I just have to find someone to do its carbs? πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰

The GT380 build made it off the ramp today😁 Moving under its own motive power for the first time in a long time. Just a short, gentle run on the private farm road at low loads/revs while starting the running in process but enough to A. Check out all its functions, gearbox, clutch, brakes etc and B. To upset "Our Greta" by leaving a nice trail of 2t smoke 🀣🀣

Well the owner of the Daytona Super 3 collected it today, pleased that now the idiot lights all work, the flat spot just as you start to pull has gone along with the holding 2k revs on ticker, and it no longer leaks water so happy days. But in its place and not expected by us, he left his very pretty Hyabusa with charging problems! Fun fun fun πŸ™ˆ

The old boy lives again and his incontinence appears to be cured πŸ‘ Shame that mobile phone mics make every engine sound like a bag of nails though. πŸ™ˆ
