Beetle Bodywork
The bonnet (well, boot if we're being strictly correct) is one of the main signifiers of a Beetle's age, and while ours will ultimately sport a selection of early panels from different early model Beetles, we wanted to ensure that the front end looked 'right.'

To this end we're working to resurrect the original '57 bonnet rather than simply fitting a pattern part, adding in fresh steel where required, tackling pin holes and generally ensuring it's both solid and well suited for a life spent dealing with the UK's inclement weather head-on.

The owner has also requested we give the bonnet a smoother frontal appearance by deleting the exterior handle and devising a one-off replacement, which in turn has required more custom network from Stu.

He's not giving you all 'the finger' here, honest!

The '57 Beetle has emerged from the spray booth with a fresh coat of epoxy, meaning we'll soon be able to commence wet sanding and, when a colour has been selected, final paint.

The '57 Beetle has been transformed by the application of a coat of epoxy. The bonnet, boot, door and running boards will be receiving the same treatment shortly.
