Ascona 400 No.2 by Retropower

To mark a full decade of old, cool car-based tomfoolery and general hijinks, we’ve opted to throw open the doors of our special, invite only VIP area at Retro Rides Weekender 2019. That’s right, you could spend the weekend eating Retropower sanctioned food and Retropower sanctioned (and possibly brewed) drink, all while discussing the benefits and potential pitfalls associated with building purist-antagonising project cars.

You’ll also be given the option to camp next to the Retropower collective (we’ll leave that it to you to judge whether that’s a good thing or not), will have the option of complimentary track time, and perhaps best of all, will be invited to display your own pride and joy alongside 15 of the best cars we’ve ever built.

Suffice it to say, and with the best will in the world, this competition isn’t really suitable for 15 year old VWs with 40mm lowering springs and alloys ‘liberated’ from a GTI.

Sound appealing? Well it should, and all you need to do to be in with a chance of eating al-dente sausages with us on the weekend of 18th/-19th of May, is to post a picture and brief description of your cool old car below, then like and share this status. So here we have it, the results from all that hard work! with a sensible 7000rpm soft-cut limit we made 294bhp, but just look at that red torque curve! 200lbft of torque from just over 2500rpm and about the most linear torque delivery I've seen... Needless to say it feels pretty awesome to drive!
