Good morning from the Scottish Borders and day three of the Summer (possibly) Scottish Hill Rally. Saturday was tough with near constant rain. Our crews did an incredible job climbing the pack ready for the run to the finish today.

Our Class winners Jorma and Tarja Jokela showed what a great team they are. Tarja overcame her nerves as this was her first experience with the electronic road book. Needless to say she soon mastered it and with a clear demonstration of consistency they showed what a formidable pairing they are. Congratulations on behalf of all the team.

Janne Jokela and Emil Tiukkanen drove a blinder, taking 2nd in class at and with Emil partnering Ari Tiukkanen at the next round he will be well prepared for the Scottish stages. In true sporting fashion they even stopped to help the car of Luke Horton Walker and Harry Nicoll when they had an off. Fair play

Luke Horton Walker and embraced the BAJA event discipline with a never say die approach regardless of the conditions. Taking third in this round of the Bowler Owners Cross Country Championship what they learned from Spain will doubtless stand them in good stead for the Summer Scottish Hill Rally. always delivers the challenge

Cuenca certainly delivered the action this weekend with every type of condition imaginable. Although Ceri and Chris didn’t quite make the finish they had great pace which will put them in a good place for the Summer Scottish Hill Rally

The whole team shared Ceri Wynne Jones and Chris Hammond’s disappointment in having to retire due to a driveline issue. They had showed fantastic pace given the conditions. Having located them on stage 3 the team managed a temporary repair to get the car back. This wouldn’t have been possible without the help of our friends especially and who arranged vital support.
It’s great to see such enthusiasm from two young guys in a sport where we all have a shared passion and sportsmanship

that’s a wrap congratulations to our winning crews 1st in class Jorma and Tarja Jokela 2nd Janne Jokela/Emil Tiukkanen 3rd Luke Horton Walker/Harry Nicoll an incredible achievement under really challenging conditions. Commiserations to Ceri Wynne Jones and Chris Hammond who were forced to retire due to a driveline issue having led from the start the whole team felt their disappointment. Big shout to the entire team who have worked tirelessly to keep the cars going.
