Today we had a call out to replace the two clutch side cover gaskets as they was leaking oil. We soon found out the old owner didn’t use a proper gasket and just used RTV temporary sealant. That will not provide a good enough seal hence the cases leaking oil. RTV sealant should be used when the cases are damaged or scratched on the gasket mating surface to make sure the gasket can do its job this sealant will not hold on its own.
