A POCKLINGTON man rallied nine of his friends to join him on a 600 mile motorbike ride in aid of the Marie Curie charity.

Wow! The generosity of people just bowls me over. Went to have the collection tins opened and counted today and the total amount in there was £531.53. A big call out to a certain Australian gentleman called Steve, from Bendigo, who had donated £200.00 - he probably isn't on here but deserves a mention. This makes a total (including Gift Aid) of £1822.78. Again, a big thanks from the tour to all who supported and donated.

Just to inform that we have exceeded our target for donations to Marie Curie. We still have some further monies to be allocated; however, if you still wish to make a donation there is still time before the page closes. In the meantime thanks again to all who have supported the charity and the tour team for this event. We will notify the final amount in due course.

When my Mum was diagnosed with cancer I took the responsibility of looking after her but I continued to work. This was a heavy drain on me physically,...

Today is our 70th birthday! We're celebrating 70 years of supporting and caring for people living with terminal illness and their families.

Another tour draws to a close.. Yesterday we rode around the lakes and the Wrynose and Hardknot passes. We stayed near the Woolpack Inn Hardknot and had a small celebratory meal and other assorted refreshments lol. Today we rode the Hardknot and Wrynose passes again and headed towards Ambleside. Here we split; Tom Winter headed South East the rest headed North East back to Ridsdale to prepare for the homeward journey.

Highlight again this year was the cameraderie and despite being in close proximity to a bunch of snoring, farting, sweaty men, no one fell out. Take note ladies.

Lowlight was missing Gordon Dyce, Allan Biggar, Wayne Holler, Paul Donnison and Steve Anderson who couldn't make the trip.

Please if you had any doubts about donating because we might not make it, then now is the time to dig deep; like some of the strangers we met along the way... and notably an Australian Santa Claus called Steve. The donation page will stay open for a while longer and we will post the final amount on here. See the 'learn more' link on this page for details.

Thanks to everyone who has already donated and supported us in our preparations (except for David Paton's preparations - the winner of this year's 'pist'n broke' award) and throughout the trip.

Looking forward to next year's now...... but where will it be?
