Something a little different for us - but certainly no less special. 1985 Land Rover 110 Station Wagon – 200Tdi – Fully Restored
A no-expense-spared, chassis-up restoration by renowned specialists Nick Kerner 4 Wheel Drive, with invoices totalling over £75,000 and more than 600 hours of workshop time.
Between 2017 and 2019 the body was lifted from a new chassis, and every mechanical part was refurbished or replaced. The axles were stripped and painted, the suspension and bushes are new, the steering box was reconditioned, and the whole braking system was renewed. Power comes from a rebuilt 200Tdi with an intercooler and a reconditioned injection pump and injectors, through a rebuilt gearbox.
Inside, it’s been finished to a standard rarely seen in a classic Defender. It has new seats throughout with high-back centre-row seats, full new trim, headlining, carpets and soundproofing, and a re-trimmed dash. Hand-finished details plated in antique gold include the steering wheel, door handles, window winders and gear levers. Modern touches include a fully restored wiring loom, a dual-battery system, a premium audio system with a subwoofer, a SkyTag GPS tracker and a contactless immobiliser.
All five doors have been rebuilt with new glass channels, seals and mechanisms. It also has new sliding rear windows, a heated rear window, a rear wiper, folding side steps and BFGoodrich KO2 all-terrain tyres.
