Both rear shocks are now new and installed
The back of this Mk1 should feel much tighter and safer on the road now.

From rusty and dead to fresh and ready
This old rear shock was completely gone, dirty, rusty and with no damping at all.
New rear shock installed on this side, step by step the Mk1 is getting its suspension back in shape.

Who said it didn’t hate coming out? 😅
This rear shock gave me a huge fight, the bolt was completely seized inside the bush.
I had to saw through the bolt on both sides of the bush with a small hand saw.
It was a real battle, but it’s finally out so it can rest… now the new one will do the hard work

This is the last rear shock still on the car.
It’s completely dead and fighting to stay, but it won’t be here for long 😅
Soon both sides will have fresh suspension on this Mk1.

Started changing the rear shocks and the first one did not want to come out at all 😅
The bolt was completely stuck and the shock has no damping anymore, it’s totally dead.
Next step: new rear shocks to make this Mk1 safe and smooth again.
