Always make sure vehicles are stopped approaching from your left before stepping out in the road to cross. This happened yesterday on the Hook Road approaching the Ace of spades clearly moped was not paying attention to the red light. I cannot imagine what would have happened.

Whilst on a driving lesson today over in Surbiton Surrey. I had asked my pupil to pull over on the left to chat about a fault. Shortly after a cyclist went past us. I asked my pupil to move on when ready. Then right in front of us she had suddenly fallen off her bike in the road. I got my pupil to move on down to her and to see if she ok and need and if I could help and what happened. She was wearing a very long jacket that got caught in her pedals and chain. I got out the car to help out straightening the handle bars back up for her. She was ever so grateful for the concern and help. As you can see there were others around and no one bothered apart from us. Point of this story is we cannot teach you enough to give cyclists much room as possible. Imagine following her waiting to over take when safe she falls over right in front her because you were to close. This could have been a very different situation for her unimaginable.
