Engine failure in this week on an F56 Mini, this one turned out to be failed ringlands, luckily no damage to the bore. It took us a while to find a Piston but sourced an OE one from Germany, new rings and bearings fitted and a rebuild of the cylinder head. One fully rebuilt engine and re-fitted, back up and running for a lot less than the cost of a new engine.

A job on a Mini we had in this week. Recovered in with awful noise from the engine. After a bit of investigation we found the exhaust VVT valve had failed causing swarf to get in the sprocket which preventing it from being correctly controlled.

New pulley and valve fitted, all genuine BMW and back up and running sounding as it should be.

Citroen wetbelt change, this one was brought in as oil pressure warning starting to come on the dash. Of course the strainer was blocked, this was at 40,000 miles. Anyone with PSA engines keep on top of your belt changes, get them booked in with us

A Fiesta Ecoboost (without the boost) strip down today to find out what’s wrong, came into us with no compression on cylinder 1. We already had an idea what was wrong but like to confirm, sure enough a melted piston which has took the bore with it.

This Astra VXR was brought to us with an engine light on and faults for camshaft timing issues, after eliminating any sensor faults we stripped down the chain only to find one of the guide bolts had sheared in the block, giving the chain just enough slack to be out of tolerance.

One the bolt hand been removed a new Vauxhall chain kit was fitted along with the balance shaft chain, all the gaskets and fresh oil and filter. Now we’re back up and running with full power back as it should be 👍🏻
