Observing a customer arriving to collect his Ferrari from Berkeley Square yesterday, noticing Trade Plates fitted, reminded me it was time to make an announcement 📣.
I returned my own Trade Plates to the DVLA this week.
After 30 years of trading I’ve decided to call time on Autobarn Enfield.
The business closed as from 31st May 2024.
Thanks to the 100’s of customers I’ve had the privilege to serve, many with multiple repeat orders and referrals from their friends and colleagues.
My industry was turned on its head through the Pandemic and Brexit.
I was unable to service over 58 clients during that period and beyond.
I’m not a fan of fully Electric vehicles and the infrastructure it demands, until the market matures and prices settle.
Excited about the future that Hydrogen power may hold. But I’ll leave that to the next generation.

Our client collected the 2013 KIA Rio 2 Autobarn had sourced for them. The first such model we had purchased proved to be a great choice with air conditioning, alloy wheels, Bluetooth, electric folding door mirrors etc. A great alternative to the obvious choices of Fiesta, Corsa, Fabia, Polo and Adam 5 door hatchback petrol manual in this market segment 😄. 50 mpg achieved. An insight into a recent car search carried out by Autobarn for one of our longest standing clients. We have supplied vehicles for both their central London business as well a private cars for family members for over 20 years. Client brief : Audi product from a short list of 3 models. Audi A3, Audi TT or Audi Q2.
We researched and discussed the pro’s and con’s of each model based on their typical annual usage and driving style/needs.
Their wish list included automatic gearbox, petrol engine that would be ULEZ compliant, reasonable bhp performance, sunroof or panoramic sunroof and satellite navigation.
Result : We sourced this Audi Q2 from the Audi UK dealer network that our client wanted to self collect; working to strict Covid working practices.
