More DS24s in more Fiestas!

Absolute belter of an afternoon at Knockhill doing a DS24 install for Lachlan MacLachlan, as well as catching up with some existing users!

Digital dashboards like the DS24 come in clutch in hot weather like this as they let you track coolant temps in more detail than the OEM cluster ever will. (With the added bonus of Alarms and Warnings that monitor the temperature for you, so you can focus on the driving and only react to the dash when it needs you to).

Giving them the power of shift lights, accurate digital data, background data monitoring and active alarms.

This is an idea I've had for the longest time & I'm really pumped for how it came out.

Fancy button panel without discrete electronics. Simple and perfect for clubman builds....

Just a prototype at the minute but looking at making it more production friendly as this is a good ~20hr build...

Completed a wee Sunday project for our own fiesta by making up a small harness to allow the DS24 to switch on with ignition (+ an additional connector for upcoming addition to the car).

Nothing too fancy in terms of wire spec as it is just a road/track car. Still needs a few finishing touches like boots for the DTM plugs and a ring terminal for the earth but a good start. Will measure it up to allow it to be an option for other fiesta based users of the DS24!

All quiet on our social media front but we are still here...

Progress has been made on the lap timers. We've had to start fresh with a different processor, which means a lot of code porting and familiarisation with the new architecture. It is getting here though. We have some electronics changes to make for the next iteration to address some issues with the initial prototypes. A few code tweaks are in progress too as well as revised enclosures (which make for an easier assembly).

Got some cool side projects on the go too, ultimately simpler designs but still some cool bits of kit. Hopefully more on them soon...

Fairly quiet year for us this year.

Electronics supply line is still very much feeling the effects of covid, most parts for the DS24 dashboards are starting to recover but still no sight on the Processors for them which has left us a bit dead in the water.

However, we've been working on some new products in the background for 2023, so hopefully more on them to come in the new year!

To close the year off, we have carried out our yearly donation to a Dementia Charity in memory of our founder's Grandfather (pictured in white just in front of the Spitfire propeller), who suffered from Dementia later in life & whose RAF squadron was the inspiration for the 603 name. For this year, we've donated to Race Against Dementia, an organisation founded by the Stewart family to try and take a more F1 Engineering approach to Dementia Research.
It has been nice to see some big movements this year in the Alzheimer's Research front with drugs being developed to aid in the early stages of the disease. Gives us hope that more developments are on the way for more progress in the coming years!
