Another bike for sale. This one is a Carrera Subway 1 Hybrid, rigid fork bike. 27.5" wheels and 18" frame, suitable for riders from 5'6" - 5'10" tall. As always it's had a service and is mechanically sound, with new chain, cables all round and inner tube in the front. It's a used bike so it has the usual marks on the frame, but it's in good mechanical condition and is ready to ride away. Message me for further details and price. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure this should not be coming out of a fork 😂. Before anybody comments, these do not belong to a customer, they're off a secondhand bike I bought. I just thought I'd strip them down for a laugh. It's not so funny anymore though. They're only a cheap set of forks. Bin them or rescue them?

I had someone say to me the other day "I didn't realise getting a bike serviced was a thing". Which got me thinking, just how many unloved and uncared for bikes there must be out there. A bicycle is a machine, it has moving parts and parts that wear out. As a bike mechanic the best bit of advice I can give any bike owner is to buy a chain checker. They're cheap enough and will save you money in the long run. As a rough guide you'll change your chain 3 times before you need to change the cassette or chain rings. However, if you run your bike with a worn out chain then you'll need to change the cassette and chain rings more often. So by keeping an eye on your chain and changing it when it gets to the point of being worn, then you won't need to change other components as often.

Just thought I'd do a quick post. I occasionally get secondhand bikes in, to sell on. The photo's show a Specialized Dolce ladies road bike that I've just made a start on. They show how much work I put in to making sure any bike I sell is not only safe but also ready to ride without any further need for new parts. A lot of the time, people will buy a secondhand bike off FB marketplace place or eBay etc and straight away they need to take it somewhere to get it serviced or repaired. Any bike I sell has been stripped down, assessed for damage and faulty parts, then put back together properly with any parts that are worn or damaged having been replaced with new ones. So, if you see a bike for sale from me, you can rest assured it will be good to go. The prices I ask for these bikes reflect the work I've put in and the new parts I've put on them, so yes, you may find a similar bike cheaper elsewhere but you'll probably end up with a bigger bill when you realise you need to spend a lot more money just to make it safe and rideable. I'm hoping this one will be ready next week. These are the 'before' photo's, I'll post the 'after' ones once it's finished. Drop me a message if you're interested. Here we have a Voodoo Bantu for sale. I've spent a bit of time on this one. It has a new chain, bottom bracket, grips, gear cables, tyres and brake pads front and rear. It's had a good service, so everything is clean and working as it should. No frame size stated on it, but I'd say it would suit anyone from 5'6 to 5'10. It's well used, so the paintwork is a little shabby in places but that does not affect how well it rides and how smooth it is. As always, contact me for more information including the price. Thanks.

I have a great little 24" wheel mountain bike for sale. Carrera Luna, suitable for kids aged 10yrs up. Grip shift gears, front suspension forks and disc brakes make this ideal to get your child started on a mountain bike. It's in good condition and everything works great on it.
