If you are a garage you are deemed to be the professional so it’s upto us the professionals to explain the reason why we are charging to fit high quality fit for purpose parts.

Being sucked into fitting cheap inferior parts to win a job on price will lead to unhappy customers.

If you are a member of the public please do not tell your garage how to do their job, do not say you can buy part for x price on internet - their so many fake products out there.

Would you order latest phone from dodgey looking Chinese site? No why do on car parts then?

The reason someone with the correct knowledge is saying we will only fit this part etc is because we can then have confidence of quality and it’s ability to do job correctly.

In the same aspect if you are garage that spends your time ringing around every parts place to find the cheapest parts available you are risking your reputation and customers being upset and maybe not returning?

For this reason I will only fit high quality parts.
Part I am prepared to stake my reputation on.

I treat all my customers cars like family so I want to know it goes out with best quality parts and workmanship I can.

Please as a trade let’s do better!

Let’s educate people why correct parts are needed and it may seem more expensive but right first time fix is important is important.
Of course cost is big thing and non of like unexpected bills but is not better to have slighter higher bill and car fixed once.

Or as workshop having to find time to now squeeze a job in you won’t be paid for doing second time around?

Here is a car that broke down nothing working and recovered to us.

Here is a new alternator that we suspect doesn’t even have correct LIN module fitted inside.

So cost of recovery, downtime of vehicle additional charges for our assessment mity to mention all added stress to vehicle owner and now business ownwr having to put it right.
all because of inferior parts.

Fitting top quality parts will solves so many issues.

Buying or fitting cheap parts will not only cost more in long run in terms of actual costs of parts and doing job twice because very rarely are they upto job and last as long as top quality parts.

But can you really put price tag on you ur reputation or lost customers?
