The Ultimate Fix for Turbo Hardware Failure: Inconel 718 Turbo Stud Kit.

Tired of blown gaskets and loose turbos? We not only see it on some cars that come in for tuning, but its a common question from customers: aftermarket hardware simply can’t handle the heat. Whether it’s a fresh build or a few hard track days, mild steel, stainless, and even titanium studs eventually stretch under extreme thermal loads. Once that stretch happens, clamping force is lost, and your gasket is history.

We’ve sourced these studs specifically for high-stress applications. Made from Inconel 718, this is the same superalloy trusted at the pinnacle of motorsport, including Formula 1. Unlike common hardware, Inconel 718 maintains its incredible strength and "spring" at temperatures where other metals fail.

These studs fit either STD or Hybrid Turbo chargers fitted to the Megane MK2 RS 225 / 230 and MK3 250 / 265 / 275. They may also be suitable with larger turbo installs i.e. Garrett G25 or similar that mount to the OEM exhaust manifold.

We have also added a Turbo Gasket kit to complement the install, this also is available on our website.

Congratulations to Drew Leppard for ending last year on a high as the class championship winner in the 2025 ACSMC Sprint Championship.

Drew initially came into us back in 2024 for a custom tuning session, as he had done the Grp.N timing cam settings on his Clio 172 Cup.

At the end of that season, Drew got back in contact and took our advice on fitting a set of our custom camshafts which are manufactured for us by Pipercams. It was also discussed that cylinder head should be removed and refreshed to make sure all valves where seating.

After the work was done, the car came back in for tuning and we also fitted a set of Clio 3 RS Injectors. The result was a healthy 200.2 BHP and 161.1 ftLb of Torque.

A great result from tried and tested parts and obviously well pedalled by Drew!

The last dyno tuning sessions of 2025 are coming to an end this week before the holiday closure. Thankfully all went well with this one! 😅

As a heads up we will be closing this Friday 19th December and will return on Monday 5th of January. We know some like to leave it to the last minute and Friday 19th December will also be the last day for shipping stock orders.

Another Clio 2 RS Turbo Kit heading off to customer to fit over the Christmas break.

With holidays fast approaching, its best to be prepared and get those orders in if you intend on working on your pride and joy over the holiday period. We would like to remind customers that delivery services may take a little extra time than usual due to the extra load on postage and courier services this time of year.

A couple of Clio 182's featuring our turbo kits and some extras in for tuning.

Blue Clio 182 - This Clio had had the engine rebuilt previously with some Clio 3 RS pistons and some Catcams 5502428. We have previously tried some of the popular cams alongside our turbo kits over the years and found they upset the spool on the turbo due to the turbo size and log manifold used in our kit. However we had not tried out the 5502428 cams and noted that they were very mild with mainly extra lift. The other concern was the higher compression ratio from the Clio 3 RS Pistons, but after highlighting our concerns it was agreed to give it a go.

We opted for a very low pressure actuator and take care of the engine management with an ECU Master DET3 alongside the factory ECU. The main benefit of using the DET3 is that it also has boost control, so we could increase boost pressure in the rev range if required.

Surprisingly it all worked out well, Spool was effected slightly. Utilizing Tesco 99ron fuel we achieved 250 BHP and 220 ftlb of torque (Graph image attached) Boost pressure was 0.55 bar with 0.42 bar at peak power.

Black Clio 182 - On this one our turbo kit had been fitted to the car some years ago and the new owner was looking for the next step. A recently rebuilt engine that had the compression lowered to 9.5:1 had been fitted and we renewed the intercooler as it had been subject to stone damage over the years. The owner opted for the plug and play ECU Master Black ECU with boost control and some additional sensors for oil and fuel pressure monitoring. Tuned on 99 Ron fuel with on the fly switchable maps, he can choose between circa 240 and 290 BHP. We can see up to 300 BHP from the turbo provided in our kit, but this was tuned mid summer, so fair to say it would show a little extra on a cooler day.

More of our custom camshaft sets finishing up in manufacture with Piper Cams.

We have tested and developed camshaft profiles over the years for the popular Renault Sport F4R 2.0 engines. Each profile is specific to the model and we have shown that our chosen profiles can also cater for different engine specifications of build within that model and deliver good gains. We have also taken some of the cost / stress out of fitment as our profiles have been optimised to use the OEM setting (timing) tool and for most applications the camshafts can be tuned on the factory ECU with us or a competent tuner.

All our cams are profiled from billet blanks (not reprofiled originals) and Piper provide us with exceptional quality and service from their UK factory.

Renault 5 GT Turbo Project

A side project of mine coming together after a few years of allocating time here and there.

Some might say a mid-life crisis or just a case reliving my youth, but I've always had a desire to build a GT Turbo with my own mark on it. The basic brief was wanting the car to look relatively OEM from a distance and apply some of the tech I've worked with over the years.

The donor car actually started life as an Automatic 1989 non-turbo edition, but with only 1611 miles on the clock it was pretty much immaculate with only some sun faded lacquer on part of the roof and tail gate. Not a bit of rust to be seen and fixtures and fittings as you would hope for such a low mileage car, it was a perfect starting point for my project.

I wanted to use a 2.0 F4R Engine, Turbo charged of course, but I was not on the hunt for crazy power as I wanted it usable. A custom made charge cooler, modified Tessa Intake manifold, Clio 182 Gearbox with gear set to suit the 13" wheels and full ECU MASTER suite of ECU, PMU and Dash (ADU). Its be done to run electronic throttle and switchable maps for 220 - 270 BHP with having to use the throttle control to keep the engine power down at 220 due to the efficiency of the setup.

Ultimately I appreciate most of this is way overkill for the results I wanted, but a good a fun build and showcase of what can be done.

There's a lot more to write about, but i'll keep it short and sweet for now and let some of the pictures do the talking.

Its not only my 50th Birthday this week, but its also our 30th Wedding Anniversary! Yes i did get married on my birthday - so i don't forget the date! and yes that's my 5 GT Turbo behind us that i swooped her away in to sunny Bournemouth for a few days after.

The office will be closed from Tues 11th March and will re-open on Monday 24th March. We will work through all enquiries and any orders on our return as soon as possible.
