With the extra 55Nm of torque you will immediately notice that pulling away from roundabouts and overtaking moving traffic requires much less effort and fewer downshifts. The factory 90 hp map is designed to intentionally choke the engine past 4,000 RPM to keep power down. Our Stage 1 calibration removes this restriction, allowing the engine to pull hard and smoothly all the way to the redline.
A bonus is that under normal daily driving conditions, fuel economy often improves slightly (typically by 2–4 MPG). Because you have so much more low-end torque, you do not have to rev the engine as hard or change gears as frequently to maintain speed.

This is a customer that apparently had a adblue and Stage 1 done before instead we found out only some DTC's were deleted from the system so we started from scratch giving it a real Stage 1 and corrected the delay when pulling away from a standstill or entering roundabouts caused by Audi's aggressive WLTP emissions logic rather than actual mechanical turbo lag so the throttle is sharper responding as soon as you touch the throttle.

Customer said the results were night and day compared to the previous tune.

These 435d engine has some of the most dramatic performance gains of any modern diesel car. Because the engine is heavily under-tuned from the factory to preserve a gap between it and petrol M-cars, an ECU remap or tuning box completely transforms the vehicle. The twin-turbo setup benefits heavily from fine ECU calibration, resulting in a significantly sharper, more instant throttle, the torque curve becomes much wider, making overtaking effortless without needing to drop multiple gears. Of course the stock ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox has internal torque limiters. This Toyota GT86 featuring the 2.0L naturally aspirated FA20 boxer engine requires a fundamentally different strategy than turbocharged cars.
