A recent example of helping two of our customers purchase their new car:
We recently had Grace and Clare come to us with a new car purchase in mind. They already knew exactly what car they wanted, a Skoda Superb Estate SEL with the 1.5 petrol engine in graphite grey metallic with winter pack. They had already found a car that fitted this description (without the winter pack) and were in negotiations with a dealer. They had been given a summary of the deal being offered, showing the cost of the car, all of the additional products they were being sold, part exchange valuation and a finance quote.
One look at this and Pete knew he could do better!
The first thing that stood out was that there were several additional products and fees that weren't needed, and a couple that we really recommend that were missing.
The car's price had already been discounted on the original offer, but we know that still doesn't mean it's the best deal.
A sticking point for Claire and Grace was that the car didn't have the winter pack (and who doesn't want heated seats and a heated steering wheel!) but they struggled to find one so were resigned to the deal currently on the table, but thought they'd give us a call first.
After some calling around various contacts Pete was able to find a dealer that had a Skoda Superb coming in the right spec and with the winter pack. After contacting the dealer and letting them know who we are and what we do they couldn't have been happier to work with us as they know we won't mess them around and they won't mess us around.
They came to us with another summary of the deal, on which we got rid of a few more of the additional products and fees and we added on dealer fitted dash cams for our customers peace of mind. We also managed to get more money for their part exchange as we were able to give a much more accurate appraisal and knew what the car is worth and what margins dealers work with.
The dealer was happy with the offer on the table, as was the customer and we completed the deal that day.
So overall we managed to get the car Grace and Claire wanted, with the winter pack and dash cams. Oh and did we mention their monthly payments went down from £320 to £282.55!
