Great start to the season!

⚽️ FIRST GAME. NEW DIVISION. FIRST WIN! ⚽️

What a brilliant start for our SJR U13 Black Girls! 🖤

We knew stepping up into a new division was going to bring a new challenge, and they certainly made us work for it today! They took an early lead after a pretty decent set of passes, leaving us chasing the equaliser.

But the girls kept battling and Poppy stepped up to absolutely SMASH one in 💥⚽️, sending us into half-time level at 1–1.

The second half started steadily, with some excellent footwork from a number of the girls. Sophia came unbelievably close with an absolute cracking shot! 😮‍💨

Then up stepped Peyton — AKA our little Rottweiler! 🐶😂 She stormed past some VERY tall defenders and found the back of the net… not once, but TWICE! ⚽️⚽️

FULL TIME: 3–1 WIN! 🖤

One of the biggest positives today was seeing just how much the girls’ fitness has improved. 💪🏻 In those final ten minutes, the opposition were starting to flag, but our girls still had plenty left in the tank and were able to see the game out and take the win.

They were ALL great today. 👍🏻 Every single one listened, did their job and worked for each other. I genuinely can’t fault any of them.

A brilliant start, a lovely confidence boost and something to build on. We kick on from here and hopefully keep improving every week! 🙌🏻

Our first POTM of the season goes to Amelia! 🧤⚽️ Some brilliant saves today that kept us in the game when we needed them most… and she took a few in the face for the team too! 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ Commitment to the cause!

We couldn’t be prouder of our lads yesterday, competing in their very first team triathlon… and only going and WINNING IT! 🥇👏🏼

Three lads. Three disciplines. One brilliant team effort. 💪🏼

Each of them absolutely gave it everything, supporting each other from start to finish and doing themselves — and all of us at Carlton MOT Centre — incredibly proud. ❤️

A massive thank you to Bassetlaw Triathlon Club for putting on such a fantastic event at Worksop College. It was brilliantly organised and a great atmosphere from start to finish.

And an equally big thank you to all their friends and family who came along to cheer them on. Having that support on the sidelines really does make all the difference! 👏🏼

Go Lily ⚽️

What a season. What a team. 💙💛 u12 girls!

At the very start of this journey, we didn’t even have a full squad. Week by week, we built, we grew and most importantly we believed. Bringing in 6 new players along the way could have unsettled things—but instead, it did the opposite. It strengthened us, united us and turned this group of girls into something really special.

From those early days of finding our feet, to going on an incredible winning streak, the progress these girls have made has been nothing short of outstanding. Every training session, every match, every challenge—they’ve shown determination, resilience and heart.

Finishing 2nd in the league is a huge achievement. And when you look at that table and see we’ve missed out on top spot by just ONE point, of course it stings a little… but what it really shows is just how far we’ve come. Competing right at the very top, pushing all the way to the final whistle of the season—that’s something to be incredibly proud of.

A massive well done to Worksop Boys’ & Girls’ Club on taking the top spot—but the bigger picture? Both Worksop teams are going up next season! That’s brilliant for everyone involved and a real reflection of the quality of our Worksop girls.

Today’s 2-0 win summed this team up perfectly. Grit, fight, togetherness. Battling right until the bitter end, leaving absolutely everything out on that pitch. That’s who these girls are.

Player of the Match: Lily ⭐️
One of our newer additions, who at times has struggled with confidence—but today she was outstanding. She’s worked so hard, kept pushing herself and today she truly delivered when it mattered. The whole team is so proud of her, and rightly so. Go Lily!!! ⚽️

To every single player—this team is more than just football. The bond you’ve built, the support you show each other, and the pride you wear that badge with… we are so lucky to call you ours.

This isn’t the end. It’s just the beginning. 💪💙💛
