It doesn't matter if you buy a converted camper from an established company or from an individual self converter, you ARE NOT necessarily getting a safe vehicle.

This is a VW T6 from Starlight Campers. Not installed to standards, no gas dispersal vent under the appliance, diesel heater flue terminating below the gas dispersal vent for the gas bottle enclosure, and nothing earthed.

The only current installation regulation compliance that you can look for is approval (national caravan council) If the build is not approved, don't take it for granted that it is safe or compliant with the relevant standards.

A timely warning to be extra careful on those caravan steps. Jamie stepped out onto ours this morning and they went from underneath him. Thankfully not too much damage and he landed on grass and not gravel. He is starting to feel very sore all over now though. It could have been worse.

The signs of carbon monoxide poisoning are also applicable to your touring caravan and motorhome.

Get the appliances checked by a registered Approved Workshop Scheme member. Many of us use calibrated flue gas analysis equipment. We use TPI Europe Ltd products for this, but there are many models in use.

🌻Have a great Bank Holiday everyone!🌷

Where have you all gone? Countryside or beach? ⛰️🏖️

Sadly no trip for us, but 3 days off to relax (ish). It might include a pub meal, it will certainly include the assembly of lots of flat pack furniture and there definitely will be no alarms set.
