It’s beginning to look a lot like… a Mini!! Lots of excitement here at Clifton Rain Limited, as we see huge progress on the Mk1 Mini body shell. The panels are incredibly good quality giving us very good panel fit. As a result, the structure has taken shape very well. Still lots to do and many hours of tweaking and measurements ahead of us, but it is always nice to see a glimpse of the finished product! Watch this space.

A very large, early Christmas present for the lovely little Mk1 Mini. Lots of new panels to revive this early example of a British Icon. Plenty of work ahead but we are certainly looking forward to it! An extra challenge? To build a nearly new shell better and for less than the cost of a heritage shell. Watch this space!!

From collection in a beautiful setting to our workshops, we are very proud to show one of our new projects. This very pretty Mercedes Benz 190SL has come to us needing mechanical recommissioning work due to being unused for some time. We look forward to having this lovely classic running smoothly again and see it back on the road very soon!

It is always lovely to hear back from a customer with updates on their car that we have worked on previously. This fantastic restoration of a series 2 Toyota MR2 is now looking amazing in its fresh coat of paint, inside and out! We were tasked with numerous repairs to the body shell and bolt on panels a few years ago. The owner sent over these pictures, full of praise on how little bodywork was needed due to the care Clifton Rain took to achieve the best metal finish at the fabrication stage. This of course makes us very happy to hear we are doing the job right! A few close ups of some of the areas we worked on; now in paint.

Here’s a fun project at Clifton Rain Limited. A BMW Z3 2.8i with corrosion in the front wheel-arch. Heres part of our progress. You can see how a small amount of visible rust can grow very quickly into a far larger hole! Fortunately nothing that we can’t handle. The Z3 now has a fresh MOT and is being enjoyed by its owner once again, with the roof down!

A few weeks ago, Clifton Rain Limited had the real pleasure of transporting and helping to appraise and sell this awesome Mitsubishi Evolution 9 FQ-320. A one owner car that was loved and cared for whilst being driven daily! The Evo has since gone to a new home and will be gently restored to perfect condition. We are glad to hear it’s in good hands!

Our first Lancia Fulvia update! The floors have been subjected to “industry standard” repairs and hidden with filler and under-seal. Our process of removing under-seal and other coatings with a wire wheel quickly highlights weak points where corrosion has taken hold! New floors will be required! Watch this space!
