This Mercedes-Benz GLE came in with a USB port that had stopped working.

After investigating, we found the issue was caused by coffee/drink spillage around the centre console. ☕⚡

It’s something we’re seeing more often as modern vehicles have more electrical components packed into areas where drinks are commonly kept.

A small spill might not seem like much at the time, but it can sometimes lead to costly electrical repairs.

So next time you put a coffee in the cup holder… be careful 👀

Graham brings his race cars to us for repairs—but now he wants the Ascocars team involved trackside too. Are we ready for our first race weekend? 🏁

This Mercedes-Benz CLE came in with significant damage to the door.

Rather than replacing the complete door, we were able to repair the original panel, carry out the necessary bodywork and respray, then blend the adjoining panels to achieve the correct gunmetal grey finish. 🎨🔧

This isn’t always an easy colour to match, so we were very pleased with how the finished repair came out.

With a replacement door alone costing over £1,000 from Mercedes-Benz, before paint, fitting and additional work, repairing the existing door properly saved the customer a substantial amount of money. 💰

Sometimes replacing the whole panel isn’t the only answer — a good repair can make all the difference.

Could you tell this door had been damaged? 👀

This Mercedes-Benz V-Class came in with an A/C issue that required replacement of the evaporator inside the heater box.

The part itself sits deep inside the dashboard, which meant carrying out a major interior strip-down just to access and replace it 🔧

It’s a good example of how complicated modern vehicle repairs have become. What sounds like a simple A/C component can involve hours of careful dismantling and reassembly.

Would you have expected this much of the interior to come apart just to replace the evaporator? 👀

Mercedes CLA in with the cooling fan constantly running in emergency mode and the air conditioning not working. After carrying out an investigation, we traced the fault to the A/C pressure sensor—a common culprit for these symptoms. Sensor replaced, fault cleared and everything back working as it should.

This Mercedes came in with a completely jammed sunroof.

The customer advised us that the sunroof rails had previously been replaced elsewhere, but unfortunately, the system had jammed again.

We tried every possible method based on our experience, but the sunroof would not release. After further investigation, the only practical option was to remove the complete sunroof assembly — which was far from an easy job! 🔧

The required replacement parts are currently unavailable from stock and must come directly from Mercedes-Benz.

Once the parts arrive, we’ll be going live on TikTok while
we refit everything. Who wants to watch us put this complicated puzzle back together? 👀😂

This Mercedes came in with an AdBlue leak which had started to crystallise, along with a countdown warning on the dashboard.

AdBlue systems can be some of the most complicated systems to diagnose and repair, and leaving the fault unresolved can eventually prevent the vehicle from starting.

After further investigation, we replaced the leaking AdBlue pipe and seal, then completed the repair with the necessary software update 🔧✅

It is another reminder not to ignore AdBlue warnings, even when the vehicle still appears to drive normally.

Have AdBlue systems become more trouble than they are worth? 👀

This customer woke up to find the sunroof on their Mercedes-Benz completely smashed overnight. 😳

We safely removed the broken glass and replaced the sunroof, getting the vehicle back to how it should be.

What surprised us most was the cost — the replacement sunroof was over £900 from Mercedes-Benz, before fitting and any additional work. 💸

It’s a crazy world we live in, and unfortunately these unexpected repairs can become very expensive.

Would you have expected a piece of sunroof glass to cost over £900? 👀
