Experienced Body Repair Technician / Workshop Supervisor

Smartxpress Preston Ltd is looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Body Repair Technician to join our award-winning team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician who is looking to take the next step in their career, combining hands-on repair work with responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day running of the workshop and mentoring our growing apprentice team.

The Role

* Carry out high-quality body repairs to manufacturer standards.
* Assist with the daily organisation and workflow of the workshop.
* Mentor and support apprentices, helping to develop the next generation of technicians.
* Ensure repairs are completed efficiently, safely and to the highest standards.
* Work within a busy insurance and accident repair environment.
* Maintain excellent repair quality and attention to detail.

About You

* Experienced Body Repair Technician with strong industry knowledge.
* Up to date with modern repair methods, materials and vehicle technology.
* Positive attitude with the ability to lead by example.
* Able to work to high standards in a fast-paced workshop environment.
* Relevant qualifications are preferred, although not essential.

Salary

Whilst the average age of a technician in the accident repair industry is now around 53 years old, the average age of our technicians is just 28.

Whilst many businesses struggle to attract young talent, we’re investing in the future.

And whilst some companies see apprentices as a cost, we see them as an investment.

Today, we just couldn’t resist!

After a tough month of hard work, long days, and with the sunshine finally making an appearance, it was time to fire up the BBQ and treat the team.

At Smartxpress, we’re proud of the incredible effort our staff put in every day to look after our customers and deliver repairs to the highest standards. Sometimes it’s important to take a moment, enjoy some good food, and say thank you to the people who make it all happen.

A great team isn’t built in the workshop alone – it’s built through teamwork, support, and enjoying the journey together.
