With wet and windy weather predicted for this week have you been having trouble with your tyres and no grip. It's best to check out your tyres now before going out again, check you have at least 1.6mm of tread and that your tyre pressures are correct. Also, check your sidewalls for damage, bulges or cracks.

Great advice from our friends TyreSafe It only takes a minute to check your tyres, check the sidewalls for damage (chunks and cracks), check your tyre pressure and tyre tread depth. There is nothing worse than getting a flat tyre on your way to you fun days out.

Did you know that 2,152,849 vehicles failed the MOT on tyre defects in 2023-2024 according to data from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA)

If you have a MOT due don't forget to check your tyres before taking your car, van or caravan for MOT. Check the sidewalls for cuts, chunks and cracking. Check you have at least 1.6mm tread depth. At M&G Mobile Tyres, Great Barr we are receiving more and more calls from customers asking if we supply part worn tyres. I can't tell you how much my heart sinks when I get asked this question. I know money is tight for everyone at the moment but fitting part worn tyres is not the way to go.

We have been out to quite a few customers who decided to purchase part worn tyres, one customer only had his fitted for less than 24 hours when it suffered a blow out (picture below). He paid something like £30.00 for a part worn tyre, with a bulge and only a few mm of tread and he could have bought a brand new budget for £20.00 more with 8mm of tread. The new budget tyre would have lasted him for years.

We have had a few caravan customers placing orders over the last week ready for the Whitsun holidays. Don't forget M&G Mobile Tyres are mobile tyre fitters so we can arrange to meet you at your caravan storage site and replace your tyres for you. We can also remove and refit Tyron bands if you have those fitted to your caravan as well.
