We want our money back!! 💷

Cllr Milan Radulovic is demanding that the Government repay Councils the money wasted on preparing for the merger with the City.

“We were lucky, we knew this was a sham and wouldn’t succeed. We kept costs low and still spent around £100k

Unlike the City who invested astronomical amounts on this fruitless project, appointing numerous full time staff to implement their favoured option - Local Government Reorganisation Implementation Director, Head of LGR, LGR Programme Manager, LGR Implementation Partners.

The money we spent in Broxtowe & the other district councils could have been spent on frontline services instead - a total farce from start to hopefully what is now the finish’’

Momentous occasion happened tonight at 530pm!

The final legal contracts for the new Bramcote Leisure Centre were signed, sealed & delivered.

The brand new Leisure Centre is on its way.

Cllr Greg Marshall - @

“Despite scaremongering from Labour that this would never get done - tonight we are over the moon that all the difficult legal process & challenges have now been complete and we can officially sign all the contracts.

We will be wasting no time now in meeting with our delivery partners, contractors & architects and getting this leisure centre built for present and future generations.

Broxtowe Borough Council and our Cllrs have achieved this with no help or funding from the Government. It’s a remarkable achievement for a borough council. And one we should all be proud of”

Hear, hear 👏

Never give up.

A great but very early morning for Myself and Rylands Councillor Sarah Webb.
We started out at 5am to join the Broxtowe bin men at Kimberly depot for a 6am start and yes it was chucking it down.
It was good to see firsthand how hard they work and some of the many difficulties they have when collecting our bins.
Bins not put out, wrong bins put out, broken bins, extra rubbish, traffic congestion and parked cars.
We saw how they plan and adjust their route to minimalise time waisted and how they get the big wagon down some very narrow streets.
We would like to thank the teams that took us out and sorry to my team who i forgot to get a photo with.

It has been reported to me that some rogue traders have been operating in the Beeston area offering roof repairs.

A lady was approached by a slick salesman with the usual We where doing some work in the area and told she need some work done.
Once they had started the few hundred quid soon whent up to thousands. A friend thought the work was not necessary and
luckily intervened and the work was stopped.

Please check the details of anybody offering to do you some work on the doorstep and if not sure say NO.

Folks, this is the DEPUTY LEADER of Nottingham City Council, the man responsible for all its finances talking to a piece of celery, a banana 🍌 and a bunch of spring onions 🧅.

Cllr Ethan Radford, in a Labour post, finds the topic of Local Government Reorganisation trivial, tiresome, a joke.

WE DO NOT

Councillor Teresa Cullen -

“My o my, Cllr Radford. The man who reported myself and Independent Councillor Steve Carr to the County solicitor for daring to say he sold off City assets to balance the books has now come out and actually admitted it - to a vegetable!

You could not make this up. The sheer contempt & talking down to the people of Broxtowe, Gedling & Rushcliffe when we dare to question their sham reorganisation.

Coupled with the sheer delight of getting the assets, the land and the council tax of places like Broxtowe, Burton Joyce, Keyworth, Ruddington, East Leake.

How can this be happening? Labour helping Labour instead of funding local government properly. Makes me weep.

To think of the gravitas of the leaders in the Borough and the seriousness with which they take LGR compared to this. Amateur hour.

Get Labour gone “

Planning permissions should be made as near to the people affected as possible not taken further away 😡

The 14 Mayors across England will be given new powers to overrule local councils on some planning decision. In the name of growth.

Why are mayors better able than local councils to take heed of local views? They arent.

The change would apply to proposals with more than 150 homes, more than 15,000 square metres of commercial space or buildings over 30 metres.

Planning decisions are best made by the local councils and communities who understand their neighbourhoods, rather than through top-down mandates from remote regional Mayors whose geographical areas are vast and their offices in the next County!

This isn’t democracy..it’s letting developers build where they want and reducing the voice of local people.
