Follower Request:

Afternoon laners. Just abit of a long shot. Any one spotted an Xt350 Black and yellow side panel around the Umberleigh, yarncombe,Harracott,Bishops Tawton and Cobbaton lanes ? Mine fell off somewhere amongst those lanes last Wednesday evening and she doesn't look quite as beautiful without it!
Would be great if someone had spotted it.

Round Up of Exmoor Pony’s on Anstey Common.

Slightly different day out than the usual greenlanes.

For the last 10 years or so I’ve been invited to help with the roundup of the Milton Family’s Exmoor pony herd up on Anstey Common. This family have had a Exmoor pony herd on the moors since 1818.

Several riders on ATVs, Bikes and on Horseback spread out and sweep the common with the aim of collecting all the pony’s in a holding area. It went quite well this time with the vast majority rounded up before lunch!

This is done every October to check their health and manage breeding lines. Also pony’s from other parts of the moor can mix together when gates are left open etc so it’s the perfect time to get them back where they belong!

Holwell Lane, Bampton

Nice easy Lane just outside Bampton. Always worth riding and links nicely to others in the area.

Lane past Highwoods Farm, Kentisbeare

GRM:5158

Starts off a large wide Farm track before cutting into a narrow track next to the farm buildings. Could quite easily miss the narrow lane entrance here.
The narrower part of this lane is one Rut really which can get tricky in the winter! And is quite often running with water after heavy rain.
You exit at Birchen Tree Cross and it is very close to several other lanes in the area 👌🏻

Welsbere Lane, Poughill

GRM:12710

A Great lane in the dry but can be a different story after wet weather. The river section can get very deep so check before ! I won’t write too much about this as the video has a bit of a commentary this time.

Watery Lane, Bathealton

GRM:8285

Very Near to the Lane in the Last post, Watery Lane is mostly Tarmac but features a long Ford at the start. This lane would be navigable in most vehicles if it wasnt for the step out of the Ford you see at the 0:28 mark.

Kittisford Lane, Bathealton

GRM: 8284

Just over the Border in Somerset. Not many other lanes in this area so these can become forgotten in most routes but well worth adding in.

Very close is Watery Lane which features a Long ford, ill post a video of that one too.

In the winter this lane can become an almost impassable Bog so maybe don't try if alone!
