Your Autoterm heater needs a little TLC too!
If you've got an Autoterm diesel heater fitted in your campervan, a few simple checks throughout the year can help keep your heating system running efficiently throughout the year.
Even during the warmer months, it's a good idea to run your heater regularly rather than leaving it unused for months at a time.
Monthly Autoterm checks, we would suggest.....
๐ฅ Run the heater โ Give it a good run for around 30โ60 minutes each month, allowing it to reach normal operating temperature, undertake these checks with a door open.
๐จ Check the air intake and exhaust โ Make sure they're clear of leaves, dirt, debris or anything that could restrict airflow.
๐ Listen for anything unusual โ Take note of unusual noises, excessive smoke or changes in the way the heater starts and runs.
โฝ Check your fuel supply โ Make sure there is sufficient fuel available and that the fuel line hasn't become damaged or obstructed.
๐ Check your battery voltage โ Low leisure battery voltage can affect heater operation and may prevent the heater from starting correctly.
๐ฑ Check your controller/app โ If your system displays a fault code, make a note of it. This can be extremely useful.
