🌧️Get Connected Mewla Rally🌧️

Sorry we haven't posted anything until now it's been a bit hard.

So where do we start thank you to chloe for sitting in with me and doing a amazing job all day trying to keep me on the road 😉 it was a good gradual push throughout the day, getting more used to each other and the ranges. We got held up on stage 3 and 6 (the new closed road section) and then we became the hold up on stage 9 😅 Running anywhere between 20-40 minutes from the main field following stage 6’s hold up, we were essentially running first car and got caught in the mud, then into the tree 🌳 (But don’t worry, the tree is okay!)

We had lots of good laugh through the day. It might not have been the result we wanted, sh*t happens as they say, but I suppose this means we’ve got unfinished business with the Mewla! Thanks to zoe / Julian and Andy in service

the marshals that were first on scene. Not the easiest location through the day I’ve heard, but we’re very thankful you were there to slow the cars down

the medical crew all the lads were brilliant so thank you for taking care of Aaron and I Also to Mable Motorsport Recovery that helped put the C2 back on the trailer.

Lastly, thanks to the organisers who put on a cracking event, and the other marshals that were in the rain all day. Like I said, it’s unfinished business now 👀

Thanks also to those who reached out afterwards. This was my proper first BIG one 🫣 We’re both okay at the end of the day, and that’s part of the sport we love!

We was back behind the wheel at the Abingdon CAR-nival Stages at the weekend with Scott alongside me on the notes.

The aim for the day was simple – get back into a rhythm, enjoy ourselves and see where we stacked up against the competition in Class 8. From the first stage we felt comfortable in the car and started building confidence as the day went on.

We had a steady start with times of 10:51 and 10:39 on the opening stages before finding a bit more pace through the middle part of the event. Our 8:14 on Stage 3 and 8:03 on Stage 4 were particularly pleasing, and we followed that up with a 4:43 on Stage 5, which was one of our strongest performances of the day.

The car ran faultlessly throughout the seven stages and Scott did a fantastic job on the notes, allowing us to keep pushing and improving our times as the rally progressed. Consistency was the key and we managed to keep things clean with no major dramas, which is always a bonus on a busy single-venue event.

By the finish we were delighted to secure 2nd in Class 8 out of 22 and 31st overall out of 95 with a total time of 1:04:01. While there is always a little more time to find, we’re really pleased with the result and the pace we showed throughout the day, particularly considering the strength of the class.

A thank you to Scott for keeping me on the straight and narrow Thanks also to our sponsors and everyone who helps make our rallying possible.

The update from the wildlife stages last weekend!!!

Where do we start Stage one was a bit of a disaster The throttle cable pulled through the pedal So we had to stop And improvise by finding a bit of wood To stick in the throttle To get back to service What managed to work But doing that we damage the power steering So had to drive the rest of the day without power steering
What's a shame but that's rallying but after that We managed to set some good times For the rest of the day with a 13th 14th 15th times in the afternoon Showing what we could have done.

We managed to finish 25th overall out of 38 and 5th in class out of 8

The main aim was to get Jake Fox his first finish What we did and he did a fantastic job for his first ever outing as a co driver Getting better during the day And we had lots of laughs Look forward to having him back in the car at some point

Thank you to my Service Crew Paul Brimblecombe John Hardy Mike Booth sorry we keeped you busy but Thank you for looking after us and the car for the whole day
