Last year we had the chance to be part of a really cool collaboration with .fi .
The idea was to build a set of fully custom wheels for one very eye-catching E46 project. You’ve probably already seen plenty of photos and videos of . But as usual, a lot happens behind the scenes — and I’m proud to finally share all the backstage details of this truly special build.
In March 2025, reached out to me with the idea of making fully custom wheels inspired by the BMW M1 PROCAR, which he and his wife were very inspired by when they saw it at the museum in Munich.
The BMW M1 wheel design is already used by a well-known company for mass production, but the price for the required specs is, to put it mildly, insane. In other way, saving money wasn’t the main goal. The real goal was to achieve maximum authenticity to the original M1 PROCAR wheels — especially their signature single center-lock nut, just like on many race cars.
Clients fully designed everything themselves! 3D models of everything: wheel, the center, the cap, the adapters (different for left and right sides), and the center nut. The center bore was agreed on in advance, taking into account common Japanese wheel sizes, so the wheels could be swapped in the future if needed.
These wheels also use hidden hardware, which is another unique feature of this project.
Every single component is made from forged T6061 grade aluminum. The center nut clamps the wheel to the adapter with 600Nm of torque, which is why the adapters use directional threads on each side.
The guys from also joined the project with their insanely precise attention to detail — huge thanks to them for that.
In the end, we created a truly exclusive 1-of-1 wheel set in :
19x9.5 (5.5” inner and 4” outer lip)
19x10.5. (5.5”inner and 5” outer lip)
Offset numbers don’t really matter here due to the custom adapters.
Either way, we’re always open to collaborations and new ideas. Feel free to ask any questions on your way to building your dream project.
Much love to everyone — 🖤
