🚗📋 DGT challenges driving test backlog claims

The DGT has challenged reports that some provinces have thousands of learner drivers waiting for their practical test.

Through its "Operational Reinforcement Plan for Exams", the DGT says it offered extra exam capacity in areas including Almería, Palma de Mallorca, Lleida and Navarra 🇪🇸

👉🏼 But when driving schools were asked to present students who were actually trained and ready, the numbers were much lower 👀

In Almería, the claimed backlog was around 8,000… but only 630 students were presented for exam 🚦

The DGT says this shows not everyone on a “waiting list” is necessarily ready to take their test... some may simply have passed the theory and still have up to two years to complete the practical.

In other words…

✅ Extra exam capacity is being offered
✅ More support is available where needed
✅ But the DGT says the figures must reflect real, exam-ready demand 🚘

🇬🇧✨ A true British classic! ✨🇬🇧

This beautiful 1998 Bentley Turbo R is still a few years away from being eligible for historic registration in Spain, but what an absolutely stunning example it is. 😍🚗

Our lovely returning customer, Max from Estepona had the vehicle shipped to us so that we could take care of every aspect of the import process in his absence. 📦➡️🇪🇸

The Bentley unfortunately failed its import test this morning due to an intermittent electrical fault ⚡ and underrated tyres 🛞, but our team got straight to work and are already working on both issues. 💪🔧✅

We also helped Max find a competitive and suitable insurance policy for the car too. 📄🚘

A gorgeous vehicle, a valued returning customer, and another special import successfully moving through the process. 🙌✨

👉🏻 When team member James arrived at work this morning, he probably didn’t expect to become Head of NPD Plate Production… 😂

Today he had to make up 16 full sets of brand new NPD plates for our customers whose vehicles have just been registered.

That’s 32 individual number plates prepared, checked and ready to go! 💪🚗

He had a small, light-hearted grumble about making them all…

…but to be fair, he grumbled even more when we asked him to lay them all out neatly and take this photo afterwards. 📸😂

🚗 Spain’s Summer Roads Are About to Get Busy

Operación Paso del Estrecho 2026 starts today... the annual summer operation that manages the huge number of people and vehicles travelling through Spain to catch ferries to North Africa.

Between now and 15 September, around 800,000 vehicles are expected to cross Spain as part of the operation.

If you’re driving this summer, make sure you’re ready:

✅ ITV valid
✅ Insurance up to date
✅ Vehicle documents with you
✅ Tyres, lights and fluids checked
✅ Warning triangles or approved V16 beacon

Busier roads, longer journeys and more traffic around ports and coastal routes are expected.
