Starting tomorrow night, 23rd June, going into the early hours of 24th June, the "SAN JUAN" celebrations will be held in Mallorca (as well as other parts of Spain).

The epicenter of the celebrations in Mallorca will be in front of Palma Cathedral, at Parc de la Mar, where activities will commence in the afternoon, including live music, traditional Mallorcan dancing, and other activities. Later, around 23:00h, there will be the traditional "Correfoc", a fire dance, with fireworks, drums, a dragon, and people dressed as demons.
Traditionally, people head to the beaches where they celebrate with family and friends, often lighting candles, writing down wishes on paper, and burning them. Then, at midnight, they enter the sea, either making wishes or washing as a form of purification of the soul and a fresh start.
It's about new beginnings and positive energy.
If you have never experienced it before, you will find that from early evening, many of the beaches will be packed, there will be music, barbecues, and celebrations. Some people celebrate in traditional ways, while others socialise in party mode. From early evening, traffic will be immense accessing Palma, in Palma around the Cathedral, and in coastal areas. Also, buses will be full, and parking will be difficult; however, the atmosphere will be uplifting, positive, and enjoyable.
